If you could bring a dead rock star back to life for one gig, who would it be?

John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, Elvis, Kurt Cobain, Buddy Holly? Freddie Mercury? Or someone else?

This Day in Music are carrying out a world-wide survey to see which dead rock stars people would want to see again - for one night only!

Who would you pick? You can see a full list and vote on

Aaliyah.
I know she's not technically a rock star, but I quite liked her.

Actual rock stars?
Probably Kurt Cobain, I would love to know what direction Nirvana would've taken.

BY ALL MEANS, JOHN LENNON AND GEORGE HARRISON.

Also...Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Elvis, JOEY RAMONE...and...well, does Linda McCartney count? She was in Wings, after all, and I hate so much that Paul lost her.

Very interesting question! Very Happy

Well, I'm not well-versed enough in music to have a sizable amount of bands that I love to the point where I'm disappointed that one or more of the band members is dead. Nonetheless, I would definitely bring back Freddie Mercury. Queen are nothing less than incredible, plain and simple, and it bums me out to this day that he's gone. Though I wasn't there when he actually died...it must be even harder for Queen fans who remember it.

Then there's Joe Strummer, who I'd bring back if I could. And of course Jimi Hendrix...it seems to me that he had it coming, what with the massive amount of drugs that he was abusing at the time, but I agree with everyone else on the planet that he is among the very best at what he did. I heard that before he died, he was going to join Emerson, Lake, and Palmer--a brilliant prog-rock group--and they were actually planning to call themselves HELP, for Hendrix, Emerson, Lake, and Palmer. With Jimi's guitar prowess thrown into the mix, the already-amazing ELP would have been rendered virtually invincible. THAT I would have liked to see.

But yeah, I don't have a big list of rockers I'd like to bring back to life or anything. Neat idea, though.

I'm a Sublime fan too, but Bradley kind of did himself in. Dno

Joe Strummer - goes unsaid for me. I'd want the gig to be a Clash reunion though.
