@ NADA
ok so i totally get the whole you hate drinking because of your families past.
I have alcoholics in my family as well but the case here is that most families do not have that as a major problem like your family does.

You are stating a rule (25age) that would be better for your family.
You need to look at the entire country. what is better for them.
& that is a lower drinking age.

I DIDN'T SAY IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE AGE.
Thanks.
then it's not relevant to the topic of discussion, so why post it

like whoever it was said, alcohol isn't bad unless you abuse it

i mean sucks for your dad if that's what he chose to turn to but that doesn't apply to everyone who drinks

but like i said it's not even relevant. did your dad become an alcoholic as a minor? if not then i don't understand why you even brought it up

Wow...really?
that's wicked.

Can I just ask out of curosity what makes you, and any other person who drinks want to?
I don't, never will, don't see the honest reason in it.
So, I wonder that..

Late reply coz I fucked off.
Yeah my parents are ok about that kind of stull they like us to lear how to use our discretion and not just be told what to and not to do.
And I think having been brought up that way I feel I was more responsible about drinking and binge drinking.

My friends parents didn't get then drink and told them no untill they could buy it themselves.
And they got trashed most weekends.
My parents ALWAYS knew what I was drinking as they supplied it, and knew where I was incase of trouble. And aslong as they knew that I was pretty free to do most things.
And I never took advantage of that. I never broke that trust.

Anywho why do I drink?
I drink firstly because I like the odd drink. I like, come friday, having worked over 40 hours a week, I feel it helps me de-stress.
I don't drink every day. I don't even drink every week. And sometimes I go for months without one.
And it doesnt bother me. But I do enjoy a pint of cider or 2 every now and again.

you're making it out to seem like everyone that drinks is going to become an alcoholic like your father. it just isn't true. people shouldn't be punished because certain people make stupid mistakes, which is why the drinking age is the way it is. in school i was taught about the effects of alcoholism and what it does to you and your body, but if you're smart about it then you wont have a problem. by the time you're 18 you know how to make your own decisions and you know what is right and wrong. whether people follow the smarter decision that's their choice. again, it's all about choices.

And my connection is, as follows:
We should try to keep alcohol away from the youth and young adults [I am refering to early 20's] as long as we can, for the sake of their lives.
Not all of them will have the same reaction as my father, or the same things to deal with, but they can still ruin their lives so quick, and I think it's sad, and it makes me sick. And I just want people to get a chance to really live life before they do something like drink or drugs [yes I know drugs are a WHOLE other thing]

that's why I think it should be higher...for the well being.
Even if kids still do it.
I think it would make it better.
Or I would at least feel better about it.

And, peolpe like my father, don't chose to abuse, he is an alcholic, like many in my family before him, it's in the blood.

and you did say that your father had no choice ^^^^^^^^

said he didn't choose.
Not that he didn't have a choice.

:]
BUT HE HAD A CHOICE. alcohol is not a bad thing unless you make it that way.

Two ways:

Alcoholic.
Not.

That goes two ways.

I like this,
It's legit,
No BS or personal downing in it.

Straight to the point and honest.

I don't know,
I just think that there are to many negatives I have seen heard, whatever that make me think negative of it.

Sure we have okay drinkers, but then there are those who aren't.
And it makes me feel weird that the youth are exposing themselves to it..I don't know.

i can understand that you are so against it because of bad thigns it's done to your father and stuff, but it doesn't mean that will happen to everyone. no offense, but your father made poor choices and sadly it's effected you. can you agree to disagree with people like ever? because it seems like in every thread you keep repeating the same stuff over and over again and it's like talking to a wall

Your denying facts.
What you want would make everything a lot worse.
You have no evidence that what you want would be better.
It makes no sense.
I say this a lot to people like you "If everyone is telling you your wrong, then the problem must be you"
