My Truly Chemical Romance, chapter 4
I drove over to the bands apartment in silence excited for Gee to meet my family.
"God I hope he likes them!" I thought as I turned onto his street, "I mean they can be a little quirky at times but I don't think there will be any problems." I stopped outside of the apartment and rang his buzzer. I heard him coming down the stairs and I quickly fixed my skirt.
"Hey!" he said as he gave me a kiss on the cheek.
"Ready to go?" I asked as I walked over to my car.
"Yep!" He said opening the door for me.
We quickly drove off to my parents house which was only 20 minutes away from the apartment.
"Hey look!" I said as I pointed out a large building. "That's where I went to elementary school and that's the park where all my friends and I used to hang out!" I said excitedly.
"You have a lot of memories here huh?" He asked as we pulled into my parents driveway.
"Yeah" I replied as I got out of the car.
We walked up the front steps and rang the doorbell
"MOMMY!" I yelled as my Mom answered the door.
"Hey sweetie! And whose this?" she asked looking at Gee.
"Mom this is Gerard." I said as we walked inside.
"Hi," he said "I love your house its really pretty!" Awww he's so polite.
We all sat down as my dad came out of the kitchen.
"Hi daddy!" I said jumping on him and giving him a big hug.
"Hi" He said as the phone rang.
"Oh hold on I'll get it" my Mom said.
"So I don't think we've met," my dad said shaking Gerard's hand.
"No, I don't think so. I'm Gerard."
Suddenly we heard a cry from the other room. I went running in to find my Mom crying on the floor.
"Sonia you-your grandma" she said between cries "She-she had a heart attack."
"Is she all right?" I asked worried. She shook her head. I went running out to the car crying Gee followed and held me close and tight. He kept saying that it would be all right. I told my parents that I needed to go home and have some time to myself. They understood. We got into the car.
"I think I should drive" he said holding my hand. I just nodded. I couldn't speak.
We drove to my apartment where I expected to find Cassie but all I found was a note saying she went to stay with Frankie.
"I'm so sorry." Gee said as we both sat on the couch, "If it helps I know what your going through." I nodded. After 2 hours I put myself together enough to try to go to sleep. Gee followed me into my bedroom where I lay silently in his arms for the rest of the night.
