Snowboarding And Love, chapter 5
The week went by too quickly for Billie Joe. He knew he had to leave on Sunday, but he would have done anything to stay there with El. She had spent most of the nights in his hotel room where they had dinner, watched movies and did..... Other things. Neither person brought up the topic of what they would do about Billie having to leave, they just focused on the moment. Eventually, Saturday night rolled around:
"So... Ummm", Elise didn't know what to say. The topic was almost too painful to bring up. "What time do you have to leave tomorrow?"
"Around 7", Billie Joe whispered his head down. "The plane leaves at 11 and it's like a two hour drive to Pearson Airport."
"Billie", El could feel a lump began to form in her throat. "What are we going to do about us.... This relationship I mean?"
Billie turned to face El and put his around her shoulder pulling her close.
"I don't want to lose you El, just because of the distance between us.", Billie said looking into her eyes. "We can handle a long distance relationship an... And I'll call you everyday."
Elise knew that was the only thing they could do at the moment. They both had jobs and homes, but she was going to fucking miss him. She could feel tears well up in her eyes.
"I'm going to miss you Billie", Elise said her teary eyes looking up into his.
"I know and I'm gonna miss you!", Billie said wiping the tears from her eyes with the sleeve of his sweater. "El....". He paused for a moment. "I.. I love you."
Elise looked at him for a moment a note of shock evident in her eyes.
"I love you too", She leaned in and kissed him.
The two sat there for a moment, the cold wind brushing past them. Elise stared over the hills and up at the cloudless sky.
"El... I was wondering if you wanted to come up to my place with me for a while", Billie said turning to look at Elise. "I can come back in a week to pick you up and we can fly back together"
"Of course.... I mean I'll have to check if I can take time of work, but.... I'd love to", Elise smiled.
Billie smiled and pulled Elise even closer so her head was resting on his shoulder.
"It's getting cold out isn't it", Billie Joe shivered.
"Pussy", Elise laughed. "Can't handle the Canadian weather."
Billie Joe laughed before sweeping Elise up in his arms and carrying her back into the hotel room.

Elise sat fidgeting on one of the large leather couches in the employee lounge. Looking at her watch she realized it was still an hour before Billie Joe was due to arrive. Getting up. She walked over to the lockers to grab her coat. When she rounded the corner Marli was sitting on one of the benches. She glared at El when she came in.
"What's your problem?" Elise said turning to open up her locker.
"Don't worry about me!", Marli growled back. "You just focus on the lovely time you'll be having in California while Margaret are back here working our asses off to pay rent."
"Is this what this is about!", Marli slammed the locker and twirled around. "Can't you once be happy for me!"
"How can I be happy when you are ignoring your friends over some... Some... Fucking GUY!", Marli yelled her face becoming red.
"I can't believe you! Your being such a... A... Fucking... "
"A fucking what El? Bitch? Asshole? Fucking tell me what I am!", Marli screamed.
Elise saw it happening but it was like she had no control. In one quick motion she slapped Marli as hard as she could across her face.
The two girls just stood there both completely shocked at what had just happened. Elise turned around and ran out the door tears streaming down her face. She ran out to the ski patrol centre and leaned against the side her face in her hands.
"You okay?", Brad asked poking his head out the door.
"What... Yeah fine!" Elise said quickly wiping the tears out of her eyes.
"Are you sure?" he said stepping out of the building.
"Yeah... I'm fine", Elise lied. "I just poked myself in the eye by accident."
"Oh", Brad chuckled. "If that's all could you help Sean and I, we need to make a quick trip up the hill and make sure everything closed at the Cafeteria."
Elise nodded and went inside the building. In a matter of minutes the three employees were traveling up the slopes to the restaurant on the top of the hill. The person who had just finished their shift thought they may have forgotten to lock one of the doors.
When they got to the restaurant Sean pointed out that some of the lights were on which seemed suspicious due to the fact the last person out said that all they had forgotten to do was lock the doors. They quietly entered the restaurant and it became evident the second they stepped through the door that there were people inside. Five of them to be exact. Their main attention seemed to be focused on trying to open the cash registered that lined the left side of the door.
"Hey!" Sean yelled. "What do you think you are doing!?!"
The five men looked up and edged towards the three employees.
"Sean!", Elise whispered. "I don't think you should have done that."
As the five drew nearer, one of the taller one's spoke out.
"We won't do anything to any of you if you just tell us the combo to open up the registers". He yelled a note of panic in his voice.
"We don't know the combinations." Sean said. "We're just ski patrol... We don't work at the restaurant.
While this was going on El slowly moved her arm around her back to where a walkie talkie was clipped to her belt. She was going to try to call for help. She could feel her fingers wrap around it.....
"HEY!", one of the men yelled pulling the walkie talkie violently from El's hand.
He reached in his jacket and pulled out gun pointing it directly at El.
"I have a proposition for you." He said looking at Sean and Brad. "Either you tell me that fucking combination or I kill her."
"I don't know!", Brad screamed.
"5!" The man started to count down
"NO please don't" Sean yelled. "Don't do this to her!"

I could feel hot tears start to role down my face

"PLEASE WE DON"T KNOW!" Sean screamed as he lunged towards the man but was held back by two others.

"This is your last fucking chance!" The man screamed.
I could hear Brad and Sean screaming at the man begging him to stop. I was full out crying now and I could feel my body shaking.

"I Love you Billie", I whispered.
BANG
Everything went black.........
