The Rage and Love, Story of my Life, chapter 2

While Joey and Jakob were getting ready for school, the phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Hey babe, how's it going?"

"Oh, its going okay. How's the tour?"

" It's going great."

"That's good."

"Yep, so how are the kids?"

"They're good, they're just getting ready for school right now."

"Ah, tell them I miss them and that I'll come home to visit soon."

"Sure, hun."

"Thanks babe, well I gotta get going, me and the guys are gonna go out for a couple of drinks."

"Okay, I'll talk to you later. And be careful."

"Alright I will, Love you."

"Love you too, bye."

I hung up the phone just as the boys came down the stairs.

"Was it daddy, mommy?" asked Jakob.

"Sure was. He says that he misses you and will come to visit us soon." I replied.

"When is soon?" asked Joey, "Was it like last time, 3 months?"

"I dont know, he didnt say. But I'm sure it'll be sooner."

"Yea, I bet." responded Joey.

Joey walked to the living room.

"Mommy, whats wrong with Joey? Is it something I said?"

"No honey, he's probably just in a bad mood."

"Well he knows that daddy loves us very much, right?"

"Of course."

"Okay." said Jakob.

He followed Joey into the living room. When I walked into the living room, I saw that the boys were sitting on the couch watching TV. I walked into the kitchen and started to make their lunches. When I was finished, I grabbed my car keys and yelled for the boys. The three of us got in the car and drove off to their school. When I parked the car, Joey didn't even say bye to me as he walked up the stairs into the building. I sighed and turned off the engine.

"Mommy, can you walk me to class?" asked Jakob from the backseat.

"Sure, hon."

I got out of the car and helped Jakob out of his seat. As we crossed the street, he grabbed my hand. I smirked to myself.

"Mommy, can you stay with me today?" asked Jakob as we stopped outside of his classroom door.

"No, babe. Not today. Mommy has errands to run."

"Okay." mumbled Jakob.

"I'll see you after school." I said as I crouched down.

Jakob stood on his tippy toes as he gently kissed my cheek and said,

"Okay, bye mommy. I love you."

"Bye sweetie."

He turned around and ran to his seat. Immediately talking to his friends beside him. I watched for a few seconds through the glass window. My baby really is growing up, I thought. I pulled myself away from the window and began walking to the car.
