Why me?, chapter 5
One hour into the flight and I was bored stiff. "Look at the clouds!" said Tre with a mouthful of cookies, Tre didn't win the bet, but I decided to share my victory prize with him. He ended up eating one of the packets, but I didn't really care.
I sat there wondering how my two months in the Armstrong household were going to be like. Were they going to be wild and carefree, or were they going to be boring and strict like my life back home. How am I supposed to know? I'm not a fortuneteller!
"Look at the clouds god dammit!" Tre exclaimed. He was tired of me ignoring him.
"I'm looking, I'm looking! Just settle down." I said as I looked out the window. The clouds were a pearly white mixed with a soft baby blue from the sky. The rays of the sun dancing in the sky.
"Ah! Bright light!" Tre broke the one-minute silence. He took out his sunglasses from his pocket and put them on. "Much better." He sighed, "So I never did ask your name or why you're going to California."
"Oh I'm sorry!" I apologized. I was starting to zone out again. "Name's Mary-Alice Phillips and I'm going to California on a two month visit." I don't know why but I didn't tell him that I was staying with Billie Joe. "So what were you doing in Florida?" I asked.
"I just wanted to take some time off from my life." He replied.
After a proper introduction, we went on talking about our lives, video games, and some other stuff I forget. Three hours later, the flight attendant came on the speaker. "Please buckle up. We are now preparing to land. Our staff hopes you enjoyed your flight on American Eagle. Thank You."
I estimated we landed some time around 1:30 in the afternoon. Tre and I grabbed our stuff and boarded off. "Thank you for choosing American Eagle as your airlines. Have a good afternoon." said another flight attendant.
We got to the turning thing and collected our stuff. The security officer scanned us and made us take off our shoes. Then we made our way outside and waited for our rides.
"So who's picking you up?" He questioned.
"I don't know, but if nobody shows up I'll have to call somebody." I answered. The problem is I don't know whom to call.
All of the sudden a... Well... I couldn't tell if it was brown or green, convertible pulled up. "Tre get in the car. I need to pick up some girl." said the driver. Somebody was rolling down the window, it was the passenger. It was Mike Dirnt rolling down the window as his icy blue eyes scanned me.
"Who's that? Your new girlfriend?" said Mike sarcastically.
"Come on you two you can trash talk in the car, just gat in the car Tre!" I could tell that the driver was getting impatient. He looked over Mike's shoulder to see what the commotion was all about. All I could see were glowing green eyes and they were staring at me. It was Billie Joe Armstrong and he was giving me a Who-the-heck-are-you look.
Tre put his luggage in the trunk and got in the car. "See ya later Mary-Alice!" he said as he blew me a kiss. I started blushing so hard that my cheeks stung.
"Wait you're Mary-Alice Phillips?" asked Billie Joe
"Yes. Yes I am" I bowed down. I probably looked like a dork, but standing in front of Green Day is as if you were seeing gods. (That's an understatement though! )
"Well put you stuff in the trunk and get your ass in the car" He ordered me. I did what he said and got in the back with Tre. Billie Joe speed off and I just entered another world!
