First Kiss, chapter 1
*Mandy's POV*
My first day of my new school was fast approaching, I had just one hour till I had to be there. My dad had got a new job in California so he had to move here along with me and my mum. We moved here just a week ago an I was already expected to go to school! I was dreading it I'd never been popular in fact in my old school I only had one friend, Tess. Even she started to ignore me to though. I looked at the clock it was now 8:40. I had to be there before 9 so I left the house and started walking to school knowing that the next time I would see my house again would be when this day was finally over.
*At school *
I walked through the gates and looked at my new school it just looked like any other school. People walked by and stared at me funnily then whispered something to there mates. I knew I looked different because I never tried as hard to fit in as other girls I also liked punk stuff which didn't help. I'd come to school in a plain baggy red top, my black faded jeans an old denim jacket. I had shoved my long Blonde hair into a pony and put some mascara on to highlight my brown eyes, that's all I had done in preparation for today. I headed into the school and looked for my locker. When I finally found my locker I opened it and dumped my books in there the halls had cleared now as I was pretty late. So I turned and headed to my lesson.
*Entering the classroom*
I walked through the door and the teacher stood up, "Hi, you must be Mandy" she said in a cheery tone. "Yes" I replied. She smiled at me and turned to face the class. " We have a new student her name is Mandy Diamond and she has just moved here to California." I looked around and no one had even bothered to look up, well that's what I thought. It was then I saw a lad on the back row looking at me, he had the most amazing green eyes. He saw me looking and quickly looked down and started rooting through his bag. Why was he looking at me when no one else had even bothered? I was brought back to earth when my teacher said "Well you need somewhere to sit don't you?" She looked around the room and pointed at the back next to the boy with the green eyes "How about there?" she asked turning back to look at me. "Sure" I said and made my way to the back.
*Billie's POV*
I couldn't believe it when she'd walked into the room. She was beautiful and she'd been told to sit next to me. I kept finding myself turning to look at her I'm not sure if she knew though she definitely saw me before but I didn't care, at least she'd noticed me. I saw her style was different to the other girls an I liked that she looked like she was into rock and punk stuff like me. I'd completely forgotten I was still staring at her she turned and looked at me I turned away straight away and pretended to be tying my shoelace. When I sat up again she was writing something in a notebook. She saw me looking again but this time I smiled instead of looking away, she smiled back a my stomach did backflips she had such a nice smile. I really wanted to speak to her I said "Hey, I'm Billie Joe" and held out my hand for her to shake. "Hi, I'm Mandy" she replied smiling and shook my hand when her hand touched mine it was like an electric shock. I smiled back at her and turned around again to face the front.
*Mandy's POV*
Wow! He actually spoke to me I felt like I was gonna explode, I couldn't stop smiling he noticed this and laughed. Then Miss started to explain the work.
*End of first lesson*
I looked up to the sound of the bell. The lesson had gone quite quickly now we had break I was just about to leave the room when someone shouted me "Hey, Mandy wait up!" I stopped and waited for Billie Joe he caught up and smiled at me I laughed as he walked straight into the wall and fell over. He groaned and held his nose "Are you O.K" I asked as I helped him up. "Yes, I'm fine thanks" he laughed. He asked if I wanted to go meet his friends I said sure and followed him. He led me out onto the yard and walked over to a wall then he leant on it. "They should be coming now" he said. I leant back on the wall and looked across the yard at all the different groups I suddenly felt uncomfortable I turned around to see Billie Joe looking at me. I looked back into his eyes expecting him to look away but he stayed and looked into my eyes as if reading my thoughts. Then the moment was broken when two lads an a girl walked over. "Hey, who's this Billie" said the smallest of the lads looking at me. "This is Mandy, she's new" Billie said to the lad. "And Mandy, this is Tre, Mike and Mike's girlfriend Sarah" he said introducing them to me. "Hi" I said "Hey" they replied.
*Tre's POV*
There is definitely something going on between them! I mean yeah they weren't snogging each other's faces off when we walked over there but they were pretty out of it. She's really pretty as well. I'm surprised at Billie as he barely ever fancies anyone but you can tell he likes Mandy.
*Billie Joe*
I couldn't believe what had happened before and trust Tre to come and muck things up. I asked Mandy if I could speak to her she said sure and followed me. I stopped "Look..... erm what was ....that before?" she laughed. "I'm not sure you were the one staring at me" she replied. I looked at her she stopped laughing. "Do you want to come round to mine tonight" I asked hopefully. "Sure" she answered "But I'd have to call my dad" I felt a sharp aching pain at that last word an I sort of shuffled around a bit, she noticed but didn't say anything. "Sure you can phone him at my house." I finally answered. "Thanks" she replied looking at me as if trying to figure out why I had gone sad all of a sudden. I looked down trying to avoid her eyes. She touched my arm I looked up and she stared into my eyes an I stared back just like before. She gave me a hug and then I went to lean in for a kiss but .........................
