First Kiss, chapter 2
I felt something hit me just as I was really close with Mandy. "OW! Tre!" I screamed, once again my dear little friend had ruined the moment by jumping on me and pulling me an nearly Mandy onto the floor. "Oops sorry" he replied getting up off the floor "I was just trying to get your attention ". I scowled at Tre "What by giving me concussion"? Tre looked at the floor "No" he replied sadly "Sorry" he added. I felt kind of sad for him so I laughed an smacked him round the head "It's OK". He smiled "So, What was going on here?" Tre asked even though he knew perfectly well what was going on before he tried to kill me. Mandy blushed, I looked at Tre evily "Nothing" I answered "Thanks to you!" I added under my breath so none of them could hear me. "Ok" Tre answered eying me suspiciously. Mike and Sarah came around the corner "Oh your here" Mike said "We've been looking for you everywhere". They walked over to us "Ahhh Mike did you miss me!" Tre said divng at Mike they both fell over, Mike pushed Tre off him "No!" he replied. There was a few seconds silence when Mandy started laughing followed by Sarah then I couldn't help laughing to, Soon we were all laughing. When we'd finally stopped I looked at Mandy she looked so cute standing in between Mike an Tre. I made a mental note to hit Tre again later for ruining the moment... Twice!
*Mikes POV*
Wow I couldn't believe he'd actually met someone he liked. Billie had always had plenty of girls fancy him but never had he liked them back. I liked Mandy she was funny. Sarah walked over an tapped my arm "Come on we best go" she said. "Ok, you coming Tre" I asked. "Yer" he said getting off the wall and walking over to us. "Cya Mandy, Bye Billie" I called. "Bye" They both said. " Mandys nice" Sarah said as we were near the school again. "Yer I'm glad he's going out with someone now." I said "Maybe he'll stop following us now!" I added. She laughed "We'll have to find you a girlfriend now, Tre". Tre went red, "Actually, I have had lot of offers I just don't wanna be going out with someone right now" he replied in a matter-of-factly type of tone. Me and Sarah both knew this was a lie so we just laughed.
*Mandys POV*
*The end of the school day*
The bell rang for the end of the day, I couldn't believe it my day had been completeley different from what I expected. I was waiting at the gate for Billie Joe since I was going to his house. I wasn't sure if I wanted to go though since i'd only just met him but I couldn't exactly say no to those eyes! Someone tapped me on the shouldor I turned round to see a tall lad with blonde hair an brown eyes "erm... Hi" I said. "Hi" he replied "I just thought i'd come speak to you since your on your own". I smiled "Ok"I said "Are you waiting for someone?" he asked me. "Yeah, my... Erm friend". Just on that moment as if on cue Billie walked up behind me. He put his arm round my shouldor, "I thought he was just a friend" the boy said looking at Billie. "He is" I replied shrugging Billie's arm off me. Straight after I done it I regretted it. He just looked at me all the sparkle in his green eyes was gone he turned round and walked away. Shit! I thought. "Sorry, I gotta go" I said to the lad. I ran off the way Billie was going I saw him walking down the road he was walking slowly with his hands in his pockets. I ran to catch up to him I stopped once I got to his side. "Billie?" He didn't answer I looked at him I must have hurt him bad because his eyes were completly dull. "Billie, I'm so sorry I dunno why I done that" I said quietly. He just turned away.
*Billies POV*
I didn't know what to do, it wasn't that she was speaking to him although that did kind of bother me, It was the fact shed totally blanked me an pushed me away just because of that lad. She had caught up with me an was trying to speak to me it was hard ignoring her so I looked away. I carried on ignoring her I had to do something though espesially when she started to sound like she was going to cry. I didn't say anything but I turned to look at her. She was looking at the floor but you could tell she wanted to cry. She saw me looking at her I stared into her eyes they'd lost their spark an were blank. I quickly looked away she'd broke my heart. I walked to a bench and sat down she stood near me until eventually sitting down. "Billie. Talk to me" she said. I had to speak so turned to face her "what?" I finally answered. "I'm sorry" she said, I smiled I didn't want to be mad at her an she had said sorry. She smiled back at me "I didn't mean to be nasty, honest! I couldn't say you were my boyfriend since your not so I didn't no what to do". The bit about me not being her boyfriend stung a little but not to much since we'd only just met maybe if I got to know her better then we could see what happens.
We finaly got to my house. My mum wasn't in so we were alone. I led her into my livingroom an I sat on the couch while she looked around the room. She walked up to the fire place and looked at the photos when she got to the last one she did what I had hoped she wouldn't. "Who's this?". I knew it wasn't her fault she wasn't to know but already I could feel the tears in my eyes. "It's my dad" I said my voice was thick. She looked confused an sat next to me "he died when I was 10 of cancer" I continued. By now tears were streaming down my face. She looked shocked "Oh my god, I'm so sorry" she looked like she was going to cry too. She hugged me an I hugged her back. "Are you OK?" She asked "Yer, I'm fine" I replied. "Do you want a drink?" I asked her "Yer sure". I went into the kitchen and got two drinks. I sat back down on the sofa. It was quiet untill Mandy said "Would it be OK if I stayed here tonight, I don't really want to go home." I was slightly shocked but worried to on why she didn't want to go home but I said nothing. "Yer sure do you want to phone your parents?" She smiled an nodded. I gave her my mobile an she phoned her mum. I went into the kitchen so she could speak in peace. I waited till I heard the snap of my phone closing before I went back in. She said her mum was fine with it. "OK, so do you wanna watch a film?" She laughed "Sure"
*A couple of films later*
"It's getting late" I said. "Yer, it is" she said looking at her watch. I got up, took her hand, turned off the tele and dragged her upstairs. "You can stay in here" I said taking her to the guest room. "OK" she replied walking into the room. "If you need me i'm in the next room along, just wake me up I won't mind" I smiled she gave me a hug said thanks and closed the door. I walked to my room an got changed. When I was lying on my bed everyhing was quiet when I heard a faint sob. I got up and put my ear against the wall Mandy was definately crying. I wondered wether to go in there but thought against it, if she needed me she'd come. Maybe this was something she needed to sort out alone. I got back into bed an kept thinking about what to do, till Mandy walked into my room, I sat up. "Billie, I can't sleep", she said still crying. I got up an brought her over to my bed to sit down. I put my arm round her and she buried her head in my chest crying badly, I stroked her blonde hair trying to calm her down. After a while she did stop crying. "Do you want to sleep in here?" She nodded and got in my bed next to me. I held her tightly and she fell asleep in my arms. My mind was on overdrive with thoughts. Why did she not want to go home? Why was she crying?...
*Mikes POV*
