"I will never forget him" Said mom, putting her hand on my shoulder.
"I won't either. I won't forget any of them" I said smiling.
This is probably one of the crazyest things ever. And it all started out with a band called Green Day who my dad was a fan of and who bought me Nimrod. And a few years later I snuck out to a concert, mom flipped, but ended up falling in love. And as for me, I ended up spending a few days with the three greatest musicians alive. And now me and my mom understand each other more.
"Let's go home.." said Mom.
"Sure.." I said.

The next day after school...

I walked home and opened my front door and I hear American Idiot blasting through my house. WTF? I walked into the kitchen. There was mom playing air guitar and dancing around.
"Ugh.. Mom..." I said.
"AHH!" said mom, stopping and turning to me.
"What the fuck are you doing?" I asked.
"Nothing..." said Mom turning off the music.
"Oh god..." I said rolling my eyes.
"Hey Aly.. Next Green Day concert.. Mind if I come with you?" asked mom.
"Uh.. Eh.. What the heck. Sure!" I said giving her a hug.
"Aly.. You were right.. Green Day doesn't suck" said Mom.

And with that we turned the music back on, blasting it through our house and acting like complete idiots. But hey, it's mean to be. So to me...

Green Day concert ticket: $100 or so...

Brand new guitar: $100. $39 in some places, plus tax...

3 rock stars bumping into a single mother and a 14-year old: Priceless.

What have I learned from all of this? That even though it feels like your mom or dad or whatever don't accept you, if they love you enough in the end they will. Like with my mom and me, now that we really understand each other things are going to be a lot different from now on.
