Young Love, chapter 2
After school, I ran up to my room and sat on my bed. I kept thinking when I should call him. I tried dialling the number but because I was so nervous, my fingers kept shaking! I sighed and called the number as calmly as I could. It rang a couple times then I heard, "Hello. Joey Armstrong speaking." It was him. Okay I have to answer him.
"Hi. It's Maddie." I'm surprised I was actually able to say that without shaking or pausing.
"Oh hey Maddie. I thought maybe for the project we could create our own French dictionary with pictures and that."
"Sounds good."
"Okay. We'll start on it tomorrow during French."
"Alright," I said.
"So... Are you feeling better? How did your face get so red in the first place?" he asked. He sounded so concerned.
"Yeah I'm okay. My face got red because... because..." I sighed.
"What? Why?" This was making me even more nervous!
"Because when Madame paired us up I was so excited I screamed 'yes!' And the whole class stared at me. The reason why I was so excited is because I have a major crush on you!" Wow. Did I just say that?
"Oh... Well, Maddie, I like you too! I also have a crush on you." I was about to faint! There was a silent moment then he said he had to go and hung up. Wow. This was interesting.

Now, I can't stop thinking about what he said! I like him and he likes me, wow! Okay now I hear someone coming. As I'm walking to school, why can't anyone leave me alone? "Hey Maddie! Wait up! Is it true?" It was my friend, Lorena.
"Is what true?" She smiled then said,
"Since I and now everyone else knows you like Joey, I heard from one of Joey's friends that you two talked on the phone last night and he told you he had a crush on you, so is it true?" I sighed and smiled.
"Yes. It's true." Her eyes widened and then she said,
"Oh my God! Oh my God! OH MY GOD!" She always does that when she hears amazing or exciting news. "So... Are you two hooking up?"
I didn't know if she was serious or not when she asked that but I took it like she was serious. "No. We're only ten. It's not a good idea."
"You're right. It's not. But who knows, you two may have something going on soon. That's what happened with Ayden remember?"
"Yes. Unfortunately, I saw the whole thing with her!"
To fill you in, in the third grade Ayden had a boyfriend. But in the end it didn't work out because she cheated on him. Then the guy she cheated on got in a fight with her other guy then he dumped her like that! "Thing is Lorena, I'm not like Ayden. Recently, people have been saying I'm like her but I'm not." She looked at me and said,
"Well you sort of are like her. Except you stick to one crush at a time." I didn't say anything. We both continued walking to school.
