Young Love, chapter 3
When we got to school, Joey approached us and said "Maddie can I talk to you for a second?" "Sure." I wonder what he's going to say. Lorena looked at me and smiled then walked away. "So... What'd you want to talk about?" "Last night. On the phone." "Yeah what about it?" This is getting very, very awkward. "I was telling the truth about having a crush on you and I am really happy being your partner for the project, and well...we have known each other since kindergarten so I know a lot about you." He paused and continued. "It's like, I'm in love with you Maddie. It may be pretty weird because we're only ten but, that's how I feel about you." All I could think was wow! No other word but wow! "Maddie, do you love me also?" Oh crap. What to say now? I really, really like him but, love him? My mind is blank! If I say something I might say the wrong thing! But I have to answer him! "Well?" Okay he really wants to know now! If I say no, then I lose my chance. If I say yes then I'll be with him, but is it the right thing to say? I guess I'll say, "Yes." He had a huge smile on his face! I hope this was a good idea.

Time for French. "Bonjour, mes amis." said Madame. "Bonjour, Madame Raposo" everyone replied. "Okay. Team up with your partners and get to work." Joey came over to my desk smiling at me. "I brought a French dictionary in so we can work on ours." Joey said. "Okay." I thought he was going to start talking about our conversation but he didn't. We worked on the project, and then the bell rang for lunch. Today is pizza day! The only edible food in the cafeteria! I ran in and grabbed two slices of pizza. I saw Joey grab his pizza and he came to sit beside me. He gave me a hug and he smiled. We talked about our project and nothing else for the whole lunch period. Then we had to split to different classes. He had to work in the computer lab, while I had to be in drama class. For some reason we got split to different classes. I guess there were too many people in the computer lab class so I had to go to drama. Before I knew it the day was over and we ad to go home. I didn't see Joey anywhere so I started walking home.
