Young Love, chapter 4

By the time I got home, my mom told me someone called for me. I asked who it was and she said it was Ayden. I wished it were Joey though. I called Ayden back and when she answered the phone instead if saying "Hello?" she said, "I know what you said about me." I have no idea what she's talking about.
"What? I never said anything."
"Lorena told me what you said. About me making a mistake with two boys." Oh...that.
"Oh, come on. I did say that and you and me both know it was a mistake Remember I watched the second one brake up with you!"
"I found out why he really broke up with me..."
"Yeah, you cheated on him."
"No. Not that. You convinced him to break up with me!"
"Well... Okay, maybe I did but he was my best friend! I didn't want him to get hurt!"
"Yeah right! You just liked him! Like, like-liked him!"
"Not true! Not even half true!" She hung up and I don't think we'll be talking for a while... Wait-Lorena told her that? Something must be up!

How come everyday it feels like the same thing always happens? A fight, a school day, the same cafeteria food from the week before. All a non-stop repeat. So, of course, again, I'm walking to school to find out everyone is mad at me. Everyone ignored me. But, not Joey. He still talked to me. "Uh... Maddie, why is everyone mad at you?"
"I have no clue. Last night I got in a fight with Ayden and..."
"That explains it. Ayden's popular. Of course once you get in a fight with her you're in a fight with everyone."
"Very good point."
"Thanks."
"No Problem." We both smiled at each other and walked to school.
