What is She Doing? She’s the Love of My Life., chapter 3

Sierra's POV

I stood there for a sec, not really knowing what to say or do. All I could do was stare open mouthed at Billie. Then, without any indication that I was going to do it, I turned and ran, much to the dismay of a very surprised Billie.

I found Marie being held down on the couch by Tre, who looked like he was eating her face, and pulled on her arm to get her up. "Wha-" she said as she was pulled off the couch.

"Let's go." I said, running out the door with her being dragged behind me.

"Wait, Sierra, wait. What's going on?" she said, obviously confused.

"I'll tell you outside." I said, still pulling her arm. When I opened the door and felt the cool, California night air, I slowed down to a fast walk and told her what was going on. She stopped in her tracks and pulled me back to her.

"Wait, so your making me leave cause your afraid of Billie going to fast?" she said, a weird look on her face. I nodded and then continued walking and she had no choice but to follow me. I nodded as I pulled her into the car. I slammed the door and ran over to my side. I jumped in, turned on the car, and sped off. I sighed and relaxed against the drivers seat while Marie pouted in the passenger seat. When we pulled up out side our building, I turned to her.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Nothing." she muttered, getting out of the car.

"Seriously. What's wrong?" I said, throwing open my door and following her out of the car.

"Okay! What's wrong is you dragged me away from Tre, when you knew me and him where getting along good, and I don't have his number or anything!" she yelled, stomping up the steps and into the house. I sighed and followed her in and she was throwing herself on to the couch as I walked in.

"I'm sorry Marie. I just got worried something was gonna happen if we staid there any longer." I said, sitting gently next to her on the couch and putting my hand on her arm. She pulled away and jumped up.

"You always have to ruin my fun Sierra! It's my life! Butt out!" she screamed and stomped up the stairs. I heard the door slam and I cringed. I sighed and lay back on the couch. I curled up so I was comfortable and was soon asleep.

Maire's POV

Who does she think she is?! Sure, she's my best friend, but she has no right to tell me who I can go out with, or how I spend my time. I banged around my room, as I got ready for bed. I crawled in the warm covers and laid there for most of the night thinking of Sierra and Tre. How Sierra is butting into my life. And how Tre is...I don't know. Defiantly not like anyone I have ever known before. And Sierra had to drag me away from him. I was really liking him, and now I have no way of contacting him or any thing. I sighed and growled softly at the same time under my breath.

I lay there for a few minutes more when I remembered that I didn't hear Sierra come up to bed. Despite me being mad at her, fear pushed it's way into my heart and squeezed. No matter what happened, she would always be my best friend. I jumped out of bed and padded across the room and out the door. I waited at the top of the stairs to see if I heard any sound, and when I didn't, I went down the stairs and slowly looked in each room. I came to the living room and I peaked in and saw her asleep on the couch. I breathed a sigh of relief and walked into the room. I sighed and picked up the blanket from the chair across the room and put it over her so she doesn't get cold in the morning chills. I went back up to my room and crawled back into the bed, suddenly very exhausted. I felt myself drift off into sleep, dreaming about Tre.

THE NEXT MORNING- Sierra's POV

I woke up the next morning, clutching onto a blanket that was on me. I had no clue how it got there, when I thought that Marie must have put it on me. Must be she's not that mad at me after all. I slowly got up and stretched out my sore back from sleeping on the couch all night.

I went into the kitchen and noticed that she wasn't up yet so I decided to order some breakfast pizza from the local pizzeria. I picked up the phone and searched through my purse for my wallet, but I couldn't find it. I started to get confused when my heart sank. I knew where I had left it. I left it at the arena with Billie. My heart sank. My drivers licence and my cards where in there. Along with all my cash that I had just taken out of my bank account. I sighed in frustration and leaned against the counter.

About 5 minutes later, Marie stumbled down the stairs and into the kitchen. She walked past me, but glanced back and saw the look on my face. She stopped and came over. "What's wrong Sierra?" she asked, me obviously forgiven, at least for right now, for least night.

"I forgot my wallet at the arena last night." I said, still searching through my purse. Her eyes widened.

"Oh. Wait." she said. She still had on her jeans from last night and started looking through the pocket. "Yes!" she screamed and started to jump up and down. I looked up and at her, weirded out.

"What are you so happy for?" I asked.

"My keys and a card with my number on it that I had in my pocket fell outta my pocket when I was on the couch, and they where left there too! Tre can call here if he finds them!" she said, jumping again. I shook my head and sighed, leaning back against the counter.

"That means Billie has my number." I said. As if on cue, we could hear her cell phone playing 'American Idiot' from her room. She jumped and ran up the stairs. I shook my head and got a bowl of cereal, my breakfast pizza idea forgotten. I was half way through the bowl when I heard my cell phone ring from the living room. My heart started to pound, me knowing whom it was.

I slowly went into the living room and picked up my cell phone that was on the floor by the couch. It must have fallen out of my picket when I was sleeping. I looked at the number; not recognizing it, knowing it was Billie. "Hello?" I asked, pushing the 'send' button.

"Uh, hi. Sierra?" the voice on the other line said.

I nodded to myself. "Yeah. Who's this?" I said, knowing fully well who it was.

"It's Billie Joe." he said, his voice guarded.

"Oh. Uh-hi Billie." I said, sitting down on the couch.

"I just was calling to tell you that you left your wallet at the arena and it had your number in it so...yeah. That's why I called you," he said, stuttering a little.

"Oh. Yes, I did realize that. Thank you. Did you want to bring it by or have me come pick it up?" I said, crossing my legs and playing with a strand of my hair.

"I'll bring it by. I have your address here too," he said.

I nodded. "Okay. What time?"

"Um, like an hour." he said.

"Okay. See ya then."

"Yep. Bye."

"Bye, bye."

ONE HOUR LATER Sierra's POV

I was sitting on the couch, chewing on my nails, which is a bad habit of mine, waiting for Billie to get there, not really knowing what I was going to say to him when I did. A knock on the door interrupted my thoughts. I took a deep breath and went and opened the door. Billie stood there, my wallet in his hand with a bittersweet smile on his face. "Hi." I said quietly.

"Hello." he said, looking down at his shoes.

"Do you-wanna come in?" I asked slowly, not really knowing what else to say, because I didn't want to really blurt out 'give me my wallet and leave'.

"Uh, no. Here." he said, holding out my wallet. "Oh, and a message from Tre to Marie." he said, handing me a folded piece of paper. "I don't know what it says. But I know him, and I advise you not 2 read it." he said with a dry laugh. I laughed half-heartily, my heart starting to pound uncomfortably. I liked him a lot, I really did, but it was more complicated. He's married. Sure, his wife was cheating on him, but he's still married. We stopped and fell into an uncomfortable silence. "Well. I'll-uh-I'll just go now. I'll see you later," he said, backing out of the doorway.

"Okay. Bye." I murmured to his retreating back. I watched his car pull out of the drive and down the road, disappearing around the bend. I shut the door and leaned against it, resting my head back and sighing.

Then, I heard footsteps pound down the stairs and Marie came into view. Her long red hair was curled and sweeping around her shoulders. Her brown eyes looked big and mysterious with the mascara and eyes liner she put on. She had a black corset top on that accented her thin frame and tight black jeans on with a studded belt holding them up and converse on her feet. "Did I hear a car pull up?"

"Yeah, but it was just Billie. No one for you." I said, curling into the couch. Her face fell and she sighed.

"Okay."

"But, he did give me this note from Tre. No clue what it says though." I said, holding out the note. She perked up and grabbed the note from me. Her eyes scanned the page as she read it through. When she was done, she was grinning from ear to ear.

"I have a date tonight. Got to go get ready." she said, turning and running up the stairs. I sighed and shook my head. I flipped on the TV and turned it to a music station and listened to whatever was on.

Soon later, I was falling asleep. Dreams of what to come cloaking my mind.
