'Black Eyes And Bleeding Lips', chapter 2

The footsteps became louder and louder until they were next to me. I ignored them and began to slide the glass across.
"Please don't!" a male voice begged. What was a guy doing in here? I didn't stop to find out. He pulled the glass from my grasp as I felt blood escape from my pale wrists. He pressed my wrist with his hand to prevent the blood from flowing our of my wrist.
"W-w-why?" was all I could manage to stutter. He continued to hold the pressure on my cut. I felt faint and light-headed. It was the only thing I was feeling. He grabbed some tissue that was near us and ripped some off to try and clean it. It wasn't a big cut once he had cleaned the blood from it. I hadn't cut the vein. I wondered who this mysterious boy was who was practically saving my life. I started to feel better as the hour moved on. I felt as if I was able to speak properly.
"Why?" I eventually asked him.
"Why what?" He asked me.
"Why did you save my life?"
"Because you can't give up," he said. Although I hated this life, I knew he was right. I thought back to all the bad times that made me suicidal. I began to cry. The boy pulled me into his arms and held me there for the longest time.
"It's okay, everything will be okay, no one has to know," He reassured me. He made me feel calmer. I looked into his deep-blue eyes with my swollen eyes. He had amazing eyes. They reminded me of the ocean, they seemed to go on forever.
"I'm just like you," He blurted. I knew what he meant.
"I'm treated the same way as you, only it's worse as I'm a guy they'll hurt me even worse," He continued.
"It doesn't matter to them if I'm a girl, last week one of the boys kicked a football at me on purpose and it split my lip open," I told him.
"Two weeks I was beat up by ten boys that left cuts and bruises all over my face and body and dragged me outside and left me in the street," He told me.
"That's terrible!" I was shocked but not surprised.
"Yeah I know, it happened when they followed me home one day. It started back when I moved to this city. City of the damned, I sometimes call it," He explained.
"Let's get out of here," He suggested. I had no idea where we would go. If we stayed in school, we would be beaten up for sure.
"Okay, let's get out of this dump," I smiled. He pulled my up by my hand. I took a look in the mirror at my eye my 'mother' had punched. It was swollen and was turning purple.
"Who gave you that?" the blue-eyed guy asked.
"My mum," I answered simply. Picking up my bag and walking out of the bathroom. A shocked boy followed.
"So where'd you wanna go?" He asked, changing the subject as we walked side-by-side down the corridor.
"Anywhere," I answered. "Anywhere but here"

He led me out of the gates at the back of the school. We wandered through a wooded area. We stopped in a small field where we sat down and just talked. We talked about anything and everything. We said random thoughts that came into our minds.
"So who's life did I save today?" he said hinting at my name.
"Emma, Emma Stokes," I responded.
"So who's my savior?" I asked.
"Mike, Mike Dirnt, nice to meet you,"
