"I'm going to tell my mommy what you did!", chapter 2

*5th Grade*

"Holy, cow!" Mandi exclaimed when I walked in the school on the first day of 5th grade.
"You got your hair dyed!"
Yes, I had. I had gotten my whole hair color changed from blonde to brunette.
"But I like it, it's cool." She said and smiled. I smiled back and looked around the blacktop.
"Any site of-"
"Us?" Billie asked as he, Mike, and Tre met up with me and Mandi.
"So what did you guys do over Summer Break?" He asked us.
"Swim!" Mandi and Mike said in unison.
"Say cheese!" Tre excliamed as he whiped out a disposable camera and took a picture.
"Tre, please tell me your not going to be a photographer when you grow up." I said flatly. "You suck."
"Who said I wanted to be a photographer? Maybe I'll do blackmail instead!" Everyone started to laugh. Billie looked down at a lined piece of paper on the wall.
"Me- Mrs. Thornton. Jana- Mrs. Thornton. Mandi- Mr. Collins. Tre- Mr. Collins. Mike- Mr. Collins." Billie said, reading off of the paper.
"Great," Mandi complained, "I"m in a room with them two." She pointed at Mike and Tre.
"Of course, me and Mike wouldn't be in the same class; they always make siblings go in different classes." I said matter-of-factly.
Tre snickered. I shot him a 'What's your problem?' look. He smiled and looked away. I rolled my eyes and followed Billie.
"So we're in the same class." I said quietly.
"Yeah..." Billie answered, probably not knowing what to say. He looked at me with those painfully beautiful green eyes again, and I could practically melt. I shook my head to clear it of thought and looked staraight ahead.
"Looks like this is our stop." Billie said and pulled open the door.

*Lunchtime*

Of course, I didn't especially target the seat next to Billie as a sitting place, but I would be lying if I said I didn't want to sit next to him; but it happened that way anyway. When I looked around at somewhere to sit, Billie patted the spot next to him.
"I saved it for you." He smiled. I smiled back and sat next to him.
"Oooh, Billie and Jana are getting close!" Tre exclaimed.
"Tre, shut up!" Billie said hotly and studied his food, picking out the cucumbers in his salad.
"You don't like cucumbers?" I asked it like they were heaven; which, for me, they were!
"No," Billie said and pushed his plate toward me, "You want them?" I looked from Billie to the cucumbers and nodded. He smiled and shoved the green vegetables onto my plate, which I ate slowly, savoring the food.
"And now they're sharing food! How cute!" Tre said.
"Tre, shut up!" Billie and I said together. I blushed and turned away.
"Ooh, touchey..." He whispered and started to poke his food with a spork. Billie shook his head and began to eat.

*The end of the Day*

Billie, Mandi, Tre and I were walking down the street. "Uhm, does anyone know where Mike is?" Mandi asked in her concerned voice.
"Why, does someone care about Mikey?" Tre teased. Mandi glared at him and turned away.
"Tre, I still haven't forgotten that day you spat at me," She said and glared at him again.
"Let the past go," He said and tried to put his arm around her shoulder. Mike seemed to appear out of nowhere in frot of us.
"What the..." He asked when he saw Tre's arm around Mandi. Mandi shoved Tre away and walked next to Mike, saying something into his ear. Mike glanced back at Tre, then back at Mandi. I rolled my eyes.
"Tre needs to grow up," I muttered to Billie.
"No, I know what he needs..." Billie said and looked back over at Tre, who was walking sadly by himself. I shot Billie a puzzled look and walked up my driveway, Mike following behind.

*Midnight*

A knock came to my window.
"What the..." I asked myself and threw my sheets off. I opened my window, but no one was there. I studied the ground, and saw a folded piece of paper. "What in the world?" I asked as I picked the paper up and shut the window. I sat back down on my bed and opened the note.

Hey Jana,

I know you may not like me
And I can't tell you how I feel
But you have to see
That I really want to tell

I see you all the time
In the hallways, in my dreams
My days are filled with heavy sighs
Because with him you always are

Love,
Your Secret Admirer

I just stared at the letter for a moment. Who wrote it? Who could be such a poet? A knock at my window lured me from my thoughts. I opened the window once again.
"Billie?"
"Hey, Jana!" He said like it wasn't weird going to your girl friends house in the early morning.
"What are you doing here?" I asked, sticking my head out of the window.
"I....uh...I have to talk to you."
"Did you write this note?" I thrust the note toward him. He picked it up and read it quickly.
"No," Billie said and handed the note back to me. I grabbed it and flung it on my bed.
"Then who did?"
