(In Tre's point of view)
It had been one more week since Andrea came and went. I didn't spend much time with Alexia because every time I would go near her, she would make an excuse to go somewhere or would go to Jennie, Mark or Danny. I asked Mike what had Andrea said to her, but he said that she was ignoring me because she was confused. I still don't know what he meant by that. We were in Alabama and we were at a coffee shop. The smell was getting me nauseous, so I bought a chocolate mint brownie. The other guys were getting their coffees but I noticed that Alexia was sitting alone on a couch eating a chocolate chip cookie; she had red glasses on, and was reading a Steven King book.
"So, this is what the great lead singer of The Hopeless does and is. A reading glasses coffee drinking poet." She chuckled a weird laugh.
"Do you see coffee, no? I despise the stuff. You know that some coffee beans are actually come from an animal's ass." She looked at me and then went back reading her book. I sat down next to her.
"I hate the stuff too. Crappy shit. One time I threw up on Billie carpet at his house from drinking. And another time, I was with Andrea... " She slammed the book shut.
"Tre are you trying to do small talk or what? I want some peace and quiet. This is about the only place where I can get it." She opened her book again and started reading. I was quiet for a moment.
"Why have you been ignoring me?"
"I haven't been ignoring, Tre."
"Yes, you have. Every time I try to get near you, you go somewhere else, and when I do talk to you, you get uptight like right now." She looked at me like she was gonna cry. She got up and went to Jennie. She talked for a while and then went out of the shop. Mike came up to me and sat next to me.
"You're an idiot. You never admit to a girl that she's pissed."
"What do you mean? She's pissed at me?"
"No, she's pissed at herself."
"Why? And who told you?"
"Because age doesn't what to feel about you. And I found out from Andrea. She always knows how people feel."
"That's makes you screwed when you lie. So she doesn't know how she feels about me?"
"What do you care you don't like her."
"Okay... now that's a cheap shot, Mike."
"Well, I won't tell you anything until admit that you like her." He poked me in the cheek. I got up and left and I could hear Mike chuckling.
(Billie's point of view)
I saw Tre with a pissed off look on his face and Mike was chuckling in a couch.
"What's so funny, Mike?"
"Tre, he says he doesn't like Alexia, but I see he does. It's just funny cause he says she's perfect one minute and then says that he doesn't like her the next."
"Well, be careful about what you say to him. She might be 17 but that's still illegal."
"Yeah, but if I keep pushing this, and if it survives until she's 18, Tre will be happy."
"Well, don't push it so much, or they'll both stop liking each other." I looked at him and he was in deep thought.
"Nah, they'll just never get together, if I push too hard."
"But still. Stop pressuring them."
"Fine, fine."
(Alexia's point of view)
I went to the bus and I just sat there. I stopped reading my book, because I knew I wouldn't pay attention to it. I laid down on my bed and then I remembered my accordion. I got it and started playing. Tre had given me a simple song to play and I already had mastered it. I tried making my own song but just gave up. I put it down and just looked at it.
"So this is what you do now, run away and stare at things." I looked up and saw Mark.
"I don't want to hear your criticism."
"I'm not criticizing you, I'm judging you instead. You seem happy one day and sad another."
"Well, I guess your not homesick, now can you leave me alone. I don't want to say things like "I care about you" or "I love you." It makes me sick."
"I wasn't gonna say that. I was gonna say thank you." I looked at him, thinking he was crazy."
"For what?"
"For showing me that I didn't love you."
"Okay now you've lost me."
"I asked Jennie out about two weeks ago. I realized that I didn't love you, that I was only trying to do that so I could hide my feelings for her."
"Well your welcome." I thought for a second and then realized that I hadn't even noticed, since I was caught up in my own crap. "So are you two together?"
"Yeah, I guess you can say that." Mark smiled. It seemed this time that he was smiling a happy smile.
"I'm happy for you." I was kind of jealous. They were together and all I could do about Tre was dream about us being together.
"Well, you should do something about Tre then, if you want us to be happy. We're worried about you. You seem so unhappy. If you do like him, then tell him. Stop denying it." He left the bus and I didn't know what to think. I was tired so I went to sleep.
I dreamt that I was in a room full of mirrors. I heard voices talking so loud that my ear felt they would explode.
"She's so fat, she looks like a pig."
"She has no talent, I wonder how she got the record deal. Probably slept with a producer."
"She is so ugly her face looks like a rat."
"She can't even sing. Probably a fake voice."
"She always smiles. She had botux."
Then I heard the most hurtful comment.
"She just says she loves him, but she's just using Tre for the fame and money. She has him under a spell."
"I do love him! I love him! You made me different! You almost killed my in the hospital! You judge me like you know everything but you don't know me! I do love him! He makes me better, happier! I do love him!" All of the sudden, a rock came into my hand. I threw the rock at a mirror and it broke into millions of pieces. Right where the mirror was Tre's back was there. He was walking away. "Tre come back! I do love you! I want to be with you!"
I ran to Tre and he turned around and said, "Wake up, Alexia. It's a dream."
I woke up and saw that Billie was staring at me. "It was only a dream, Alexia. Don't be scared."
