Yeah I'm HIS Daughter...Gotta Problem?, chapter 3
Joey and I had just finished moving the speakers into the back yard when we decided to relax. I didn't want to go swimming so we both agreed on just putting our feet in the water. I took off my flip-flops and stuck me feet in the water. Joey sat down beside of me and smiled. I smiled back but it changed to a frown when I saw my mom drunk come walking to the pool. She grabbed me by my shirt and pulled me up.
"You stupid whore, go pack your stuff, we're leaving!" She said. I could smell the alcohol on her breath.
"No I'm staying here!" I yelled. I saw her raise her hand up to smack me but my dad came out and pulled her arm down.
"Get offa me!" My mom yelled at my dad. He let go and then told my mom to leave and never come back. She eventually left.
Joey came over and asked me if I was all right. I just nodded then smiled at him.
"You know I'm not that great at keeping secrets so here's your birthday present." He said taking a small box out of his pocket. I smiled then opened it. Inside of the box was silver necklace with a guitar pick on it. I smiled then gave him a hug.
"Joey I love it." I said getting it out to put it on. I couldn't do it by myself so he came over and helped me. I turned around to face him and realized his lips were inches away from mine.
He suddenly kissed me... at first I was shocked but once we broke it off I realized that he had just kissed me.
"I'm sorry." I heard him mumble under his breath.
"Don't be." I said looking at him and smiling. He smiled back and we decided that it was almost time for everyone to come.
"Happy sweet 16." He said after we had carried everything else out. I looked at him then rolled my eyes.
"You're still older." I said laughing.
"Oh by what, 7 months?" He said laughing.
I once again rolled my eyes then took a Dr. Pepper out of the cooler and opened it. I had just finished my drink when everyone arrived. I saw the usual walk in like, Billie, Adie, Jakob, Mike, Stella, Shanna, and Jennifer. But then I noticed some one was walking beside of Shanna. It was Josh from Wal-Mart. I quickly walked over to talk to Shanna.
"Hey is there something going on between you and Josh?" I asked her.
"Kinda I dunno, I just invited him is that okay?" She asked.
"Yeah sure." I said. I decided to go talk to everyone and I left. Once I made my 'rounds' I sat down with my little group that consisted of Joey, Shanna, Jennifer, Josh, and me. We all sat in a circle on the ground and were talking about nothing.
Suddenly I felt some one tap my shoulder and I turned around to see my dad, Billie, and Mike looking at me. Before I knew it the picked me up and threw in the pool.
"Ugh, you guys." I said after I came back up. I saw everyone laughing as I got out of the pool. I smiled and then picked up the water hose after everyone went back to talking. I slowly walked up behind the guys and tapped them on the shoulder, they turned around and I sprayed them.
I was laughing so hard my stomach was starting to hurt. After a while my dad told me to go change because I was going to open my presents. I nodded then ran inside. I came back out and I had my Kerplunk!, T-shirt and a pair of shorts. I walked over and sat down at a table. Once I had opened everything I told my dad that the girls were going to spend the night. I decided to take everything I got inside and when I was walking back out Joey grabbed my arm and pulled me into the kitchen. I laughed and looked at him.
"Happy Birthday!" He said smiling.
"Thanks!" I said laughing.
"So uhh, I was wondering do you like wanna date me?" He said looking at the ground.
"Joey... yeah sure." I said smiling. Joey leaned in and kissed me. I smiled and then we went back outside. The rest of night I stayed by Joey's side until he had to leave.
"Do you have to go?" I asked him playfully.
"Yeah hey, I'll see ya later okay?" He said coming over and giving me a quick kiss so my dad wouldn't see. I smiled then gave him a hug and watched him leave.
After everyone left Shanna, Jennifer, and me all went downstairs in the basement to hang. We carried on until about 8 that morning when everyone left. After everyone left I went to bed. I quickly fell asleep and slept until 5 that evening. When I got up I walked into the kitchen and got a water out of the fridge. I sat down in the living room where my dad, Ramona and Frankito were all watching Shark Tale. I decided to go upstairs and get on my laptop. I signed on to AOL and AIM with me screen name SARA*IS*COOL and I noticed Joey was on (his screen name ROCKSTAR_DUDE) I smiled and double clicked on his name.

ROCKSTAR_DUDE says: Hey whatcha doin????
SARA*IS*COOL says: Oh nothing really just got up actually! J
ROCKSTAR_DUDE says: Dad made me take Jakob to the mall L
SARA*IS*COOL says: Sry!! LOL!! What r u doing l8er???
ROCKSTAR_DUDE says: Nothin?? Y?
SARA*IS*COOL says: Just wondering!!! I miss you already.
ROCKSTAR_DUDE says: I no I miss you too!!!
SARA*IS*COOL says: Joey I gotta go come over 2marrow k? Love ya

I smiled to myself then logged off. I got out my iPod and relaxed. I fell asleep because I woke up to Joey in my room.
"Joey, what the fuck, are you doing?" I said pulling the covers back over my head.
"Well yesterday you told me to come over and it's like noon, and I'm here." He said while continuing to jump on my bed.
"Joey stoooooooop!" I whined, putting my pillow on top of my head. He finally stopped then pulled my covers from on top of my head. I instantly pulled them back up.
"C'mon please get up!!!!! I hate begging so come on!" Joey said laughing. I smiled and then slowly got out of my bed. I had on a pair of pajamas that said I rule and you don't. He laughed when he saw them. I looked at him and rolled my eyes then went downstairs.
"Morning Dad." I said while Joey and I sat down at the table.
"Morning!" He said cheerfully. Dude what is up with people being all happy and crap.
"Dad me and Joey are dating." I said out of the blue. My dad turned around and looked at us the started clapping and jumping up and down like a little kid.
Joey and I looked at each other and smiled. The rest of the day we hung out by the pool. Talking about nothing at all. It was the day before the 4th of July and I was going to have a party. I told Joey and smiled then kissed me.
I decided I needed some kinda caffeine so I told Joey that we were going out.
"Joey! Don't, you're gonna mess it up!" I yelled at Joey. After we got back my CD player speakers got staticky and Joey thought he could fix it.
"Sara I know what I'm doing." He said unhooking one of the wires inside the speaker.
"Fine whatever." I said rolling my eyes. Someone started knocking on the door so I went to answer it.
"Billie, hey!" I said to Billie as he came in.
"Hey could tell Joey that I'm picking him up? Adie's having a family emergency." He said. I nodded then ran back down to the basement.
"Joey your dad's here." I said while sitting down on the couch.
"Okay hey I'm gonna be gone about a week... I'll see ya when I get back." He said then kissed me.
"Bye." I said as he walked up the steps.
"Mona what time is dad supposed to be back?" I asked Ramona. Dad and Frankito left and me and Ramona were home by ourselves.
"I dunno. Why?" She asked me.
"Just wondering." I said. The phone rang and I went to answer it.
"Hello?" I said.
"Sara, pack your stuffs we're going back to New York." I heard my mom say on the other line. I gasped and Ramona looked over at me and I put a finger to my lips to silence her.
"Mom me and Ramona don't want to go back." I said.
"Wells you are." She said becoming mad. I knew she once again was drunk and was capable of anything. I hung up and then called Dad's cell to tell him what had just happened. He said he would be home right away and to barricade the door so she couldn't get in and not to answer it unless it was him. I did everything he told me too then waited for him to get home. Ramona sat on the couch scared to death. I told her she had to breath and she did then felt better. Dad finally got home and made sure everything was okay.
Later that week Joey came over and we were sitting on the porch swing just talking when I heard my dad yell, "LOOK OUT BELOW!" I looked up and saw my dad standing on the balcony with water balloons. I didn't think he would actually throw them so I just continued talking when I heard him yell again. Me, being my stupid self, looked up and next thing I know I'm covered in whipped cream and ketchup... wait ketchup.
"Dad I'm gonna KILL you!" I screamed, standing up.
