"Normal? What is this...Normal?", chapter 3
*Rhiannon's POV*
My eyes widened as I tried to catch him. He weighed so much more than he looked! I tried my best, but dead weight feels like solid metal. I held him for a few seconds, but then I was suddenly on the hard, dusty ground and he was on top of me, keeping me from breathing easily. I closed my mouth and my eyes in embarrassment, and the crowd laughed hysterically as two rodeo clowns picked him up and started to drag him off to the tent hospital. I picked myself up, dusted myself off, and felt for my hat.
It was gone again.
I sighed, and waved to the still chuckling crowd and mounted Heart, before trotting out of the ring and following the clowns and meeting up with my friends.
*Tre's POV*
I woke up suddenly, and my arms were wrapped around two guys I didn't know. I tried to focus, then I realized.
They.
Were.
CLOWNS!
I screamed at the top of my lungs, slapped them off me and ran away girlishly, before running into a metal pole, bringing a big red flag and light bulb on me and blacking out again.
*Rhiannon's POV*
I found Kelsey, Shianne, and Lexi after I changed back into my uniform, and I found out I had placed second. I accepted my award, and once the nervousness passed I linked arms with Kelsey and Lexi, with Shianne trailing behind a little pathetically. I pondered a second.
"Hey can we go get some funnel cakes?" I asked. Lexi laughed.
"Funnel cakes for breakfast?"
"Why not?" She laughed again.
"Alright."
"Kelsey's buying!"
"Hey!" She caught my eyes, fighting to keep a smile off her face.
"Hey, can't you buy food for a returning winner?" I giggled, spinning around and flashing my silver medal medallion on a red ribbon. I already had the engraved design memorized, a cowboy in midair off a bucking and twisted horse, rope and duct flying everywhere with huge "2007 Stampede" Circling it, and on the back:
'Rhiannon Marie George, Barrel Racing- Second Place'
"Alright, alright. I'll buy." Laughed Kelsey, linking arms with me again. We all cheered, and started toward the closest funnel cakes stand.
After we all had WAY more than our fair share of funnel cakes and thirty dollars later, I decided that I would go and visit the guy.
"Well, if YOU'RE gonna go, WE'RE gonna go!" Cried Shianne, mouth smeared with icing sugar and berries.
"Yeah."
"Yeah!" I rolled my eyes and laughed.
"Alright, let's go." We set off toward the huge white tent that would inevitably be full of heat-stroked, nearly and fully trampled people, people who fell off rides and other idiots like ThunderKick's new best friend.
