You're So Last Summer, chapter 6

Tonight Adam was leaving. In the very few days we met, I went on a date with him, kissed him, lost him, and got him back. A lot happened, huh? I really liked Adam he was different than the other guys I met. He was really sweet, extremely good looking and uber polite. We spent a lot of time together during the last few days. I wasn't sure if we were boyfriend and girlfriend or just friends who liked to make out. Adam seemed like he was having fun when I taught him and the rest of the guys how to play hockey. It was SO funny when they tried to skate, Lillian and I were in tears by the time we were done. That night I had a black eye from Lillian hitting the puck at my eye. I didn't have any gear on, but I did wind up slicing Lily's leg up. So we were even.

"I'm really gonna miss you," Adam said as he held me.
"Me too," I said. It was all I could say.
"But I'll call you all the time," Adam said.
"I know, I think we'll be okay," I said. Adam was going to go back tonight.
I started to kind of cry, but Adam wiped away my tears and kissed me. I fell asleep of course. When I woke up Adam was gone, but he left a note.

Dear Blaine,
I didn't want to wake you up because you looked really tired. I'm going to miss you sooo much. I'll call you all the time, and annoy you until you want to block my number. I'll see you soon.

Love, Adam

'AW! How cute' I thought, too bad I slept through it. I decided to get dressed and take a shower. After my shower, I got dressed in my Chiodos shirt and jeans. My eye looked horrible, but I didn't want to see Lillian's leg. I walked down the street and went into school. BLEH! I hate school, it's so boring. But I do like history. So after the 3-hour class I went to work. Lillian and I don't go to the same college, so we didn't see each other.

"Hey Lilly," I said.
"Hey freak," Lillian said.
"How's your leg?" I asked.
"Fine, how's your eye?" Lillian asked.
"It's okay," I said.
"So did you say bye to Adam?" Lillian asked.
"Yeah last night before I fell asleep," I said.
"Oh, sorry about that," Lillian said.
"Yeah," I said.
"So is he like your boyfriend?" She asked.
"I think, I hope so," I said.
"I think you are, he really likes you," Lillian said.
"I hopies so," I said.
"You know I wonder about you," Lillian said.
"Me too, I wonder if I fell on my head," I said laughing along with Lillian.

We spent most of the day stocking more shelves with CDs, and then finally some people came in.
"Hey, can I help you find something?" I asked.
"Yeah, I'm trying to find like a really good band. Any suggestions?" The guy asked.
"Yeah try this band Circa Survive, the lead singer used to be in Saosin," I said.
"Oh really? Wow! I love Saosin," The guy said.
"I can put the CD on if you want to hear it," I said.
"Yeah cool," He said.
I put the CD on and he really liked it, so he bought it.
"Where'd you hear from them?" The guy asked.
"The lead singer is my half brother's best friend," I said.
"Wow cool, well thanks man," The guy said.

Lillian and I locked up and the Adam called.
"Hello?" I said.
"Hey there sleepy," Adam said.
"So not funny," I said.
"Aw but you looked so cute with your black eye," Adam said laughing.
"Thank you, I know I look good," I said.
"So what's up?" Adam asked.
"We just closed up the store," I said.
"That's cool, anything else?" Adam asked.
"Yeah, I sent my admission application to Berkeley today," I said.
"Well I'll keep my finger crossed," Adam said.
"Thanks, what's up with you?" I asked.
"Nothing, we just got done with a show," Adam said.
"Cool, did you do good, not that I need to ask," I said laughing.
"Yeah, they seemed to have fun," Adam said.
"Good," I said.
"I had a lot of fun with you these past couple days," Adam said.
"Aw, me too," I said.
"I wish I was with you right now," Adam said.
"Me too, me too," I said.
"Well I have to go. I'll call you later," Adam said.
"Okay, bye," I said and hung up.

Isn't it amazing how one voice or one phrase can change your life?
"Let me guess, Lazzara?" Lillian asked.
"Hmm, how'd you know?" I asked.
"I'm psycho!" Lillian said laughing.
"Right you are," I said laughing.
Lillian and I said good night and went home. I walked the cold streets of Long Island, New York back to my apartment. It was beautiful outside, but sometimes you couldn't tell it was even nighttime by all the lights. I came up to my apartment building and went inside. I switched into a Saosin hoodie, and rubber ducky PJ pants. That night I dreamed that I was married to Adam, and living in a better apartment. I knew somehow it would never happen, but I liked the idea anyways.
