You Changed My Life, chapter 1

"Students, there is a new student joining our class today. Ellie Foster, please stand up." I glanced up from my doodling to se a girl with short, black with bright green streaks in her hair shyly walk up to the front of the class. She had black eyeliner and black eye-shadow and she had bright blue eyes. The pen slipped out of my hand as my mouth dropped open.
"Ellie has transferred from North Dakota, tells us about you, Ellie." Mrs. Johnson instructed.
"Well," she started shyly, "I moved form North Dakota, and my mom's job made her transfer to Oakland. I'm 16, as you are," We all started laughing, including her, she has a cute laugh, "And I can't wait to learn the ropes of this school." She sat back down.
"And Jakob, you are going to help Ellie get used to the school," Mrs. Johnson said to make me look away from Ellie, "She has all her classes with you." Wow, could this day get any better?

"Alright, class, we're going to do something a little different. We're going to have a seating chart this semester!!" We all groaned.
"Oh come on." Mrs. Johnson (Otherwise known as Linda) said, "You two, put your desks together, keep that going down the row, you two, same thing, and you guys, you know the drill!" When her orders were followed, there were 4 rows of 2 each in the room. She told others to sit in the seats in the first row until she was at the last 2 seats.
"Ellie and Jakob, those last 2 seats." Obviously, the day got better!!

We got our stuff and sat in the assigned seats. Everyone was put in their new seats and we were silenced by Linda's new order.
"Now, since you all came back from winter break, talk with the person next to you about what happened. That's your assignment for the hour." We all were very happy so we started talking right away.
"But keep it to a low roar!!" Mrs. Johnson added. We quieted down, and I looked at Ellie who was writing vigorously. She had jeans, punk boots, and a black, short sleeve shirt over a fishnet long sleeve shirt. Her black painted fingernails shined under the light. She set down the pen and looked at me.
"Whatchya writin'?" I asked, looking at the notebook.
"Oh, its noting, just something I'm probably going to put on my blog." She shut the notebook.
"Ellie Foster," She laughed, offering a hand to shake.
"Jakob Armstrong," I shook her hand. She looked puzzled.
"I'm Billie Joe's son," I said.
"Oh! Oh, that's really sweet. And aah" She laughed, motioning me to come closer, "My moms a Chef, we didn't come from North Dakota. That's just what we tell people so I don't get photographed." I pulled away from her and we both laughed.
"So is your name even Ellie Foster?" I asked.
"Yeah, but that's not my moms last name. My mother and father were never married so they broke up after I was born, and when I was born, I had to take my dads last name."
"Aah, Interesting."
"So what did you do over the winter?" She asked, resting her chin on her hand.
"I got totally wasted, got a new guitar and I got a whole shit load of stuff. What about you?"
"I didn't have much of a Christmas, but I had a good time just the same."
"What did you get?"
"Not much, just the usual, money, clothes, stuff like that." She seemed like she was avoiding something, but I didn't want to push her.
"Oh, well, yeah."
"You don't have much to say I take it?" She asked
"Yeah... Well there is something... " I really wanted to ask her out.
"Well tell me, I'm all ears."
"Would you-"
"ALRIGHT, class is over! Go to your next class." Everyone left, including her, but she left after she apologized. I got my stuff for the next class quickly and finally found her.
