Maybe Perfection Is Me., chapter 8

Sunny's P.O.V

I smiled at Paitan who set her head down on my belly and asked me what happens when you break a leg.

"It hurts a bit I suppose. Your bone breaks in two, sometimes three, but I'm sure Summer's was only in two. She gets a cast and you get to color on it and get people to sign your name. You can't walk. You have to go in a wheel chair. Sometimes just crutches," I tried to explain.

"Oh..." she paused. "I want a broken leg."

"No, you don't. it hurts badly and if it takes long to heal and you grow, your other leg wont, so one leg will be longer than the other," I told her.

"Oh... when's Daddy coming home?" she asked.

"Twelve sleeps from now," I told her.

"Okay. Can we go see Summy now?" she asked.

"We can." I picked her up and led her to the car to go give Emmy her phone and bring Summer her favourite blanket.

We got to the hospital and I smiled down at Summer who smiled back and took her blanket, hugging me close.

"See what happens when you don't listen to what Mommy and me say?" I asked her.

"Yes Auntie Sunny," she mumbled.

I quickly helped Paitan up on the bed beside Summer where they immediately started talking about little girl things.

I smiled down at Paitan who was leaning once again on my protruding stomach. It wasn't much bigger than it was with Paitan, in fact, I think it was smaller.

"Mummy, how baby belly are you?" Paitan asked me.

"Three months, six more. In December baby will come out," I told her.

"Is it going to be sister or brother?" she asked.

"I dunno, I want to keep it a secret until the baby comes out," I told her.

"Hello," I heard, looking up into the dark brown eyes of Summer's doctor. Emmy had to go home for a while to get ready, leaving me in charge.

"Hi!" Paitan smiled up at him from on my lap.

"Hi, how old are you?" he smiled at her.

"I'm three!" She held up three fingers to him.

"Wow! And you know your numbers too. How old is Summer?" he asked.

"Summy? She's two and a half. Her birthdays in Halloween days," she told him.

"Good job." He smiled at her then looked at me.

"She's fine, sleeping now." He smiled at me.

"Thanks... oh! I'm Sunny!" I stood up and shook his hand, which he gingerly kissed. "My husband's Billie Joe. He's touring right now. I'm singer and kazoo player of Undecided still... yeah, blabbering now." I smiled at him.

"It's quite alright." He smiled at me.

"Thanks. We'll wait here until Emily comes back." I smiled at him and let him walk away.

I looked down at a sleeping Paitan. Emmy has just called to tell me she was on her way and that she'd stay overnight with Summer then they'd leave together the next morning. Probably come over to show off her wheelchair or crutches. It looked like it would be a wheelchair.

I quickly slipped Paitan into her car seat and locked the door, walking back into the hospital to stay with Summer again, who had woken up with a nightmare a couple minutes before.

"Bye." I smiled at Summer's doctor and he walked up to shake my hand once more.

"Where's Paitan?" he asked.

"Asleep in my car. I'm leaving now that Emmy's here. Umm, see you around." I smiled at him, letting him kiss my hand again before I left.

I quickly got jerked around and a kiss was placed upon my lips. I jerked away and looked at the doctor shocked, quickly running out of the hospital and driving home.

Emmy's POV

"Mommy, why is my leg itchy?" Summer asked, getting aggravated because she couldn't scratch her leg.

"Because, when they put the stuff on to make the cast it makes it itchy," I said trying to explain to her.

"You can go home today, Summer," one of the nurse said bringing in the wheelchair that we would use for her. Summer looked at me and I smiled and helped her into the wheel chair.

We got out to the car and I put the chair in the trunk and buckled Summer in then got in. Jason called the cell and I answered it.

"Hey babe," he said and I smiled.

"Hey," I said and looked back at Summer.

"Is it Daddy?" she asked excitedly.

"Sure is," I said making her smile. "Jase. Summer wants to talk. I love you," I said handing Summer the phone. She started telling him about her glow in the dark pink and purple cast making me smile. Her and Jason talked for about 30 minutes when he finally told her that he had to go. She giggled and handed me the phone back.

"I wanna see my cast glow!" she said excitedly and I smiled.

"Well you're gonna have to wait till tonight. You wanna stop by Auntie Sunny's and Paitan's?" I asked turning on the freeway.

"Yeah!" she yelled making me smile at her enthusiasm.

"Mommy. Can you turn on the radio?" she asked and I nodded turning on the radio and smiling as she tried to sing along.

We pulled into Sunny's driveway and made our way up to the porch where Paitan ran out.

"Auntie Emmy!" Paitan yelled and I smiled and bent down to hug her.

"Hey," Sunny said inviting us in. I smiled and helped Summer up on the couch and gave her and Paitan some markers and then Sunny and I walked into the kitchen.

"Emmy, something's happened," she mumbled and I looked at her.

"The doctor kissed me last night," she said and I looked at her.

"Do you never learn? How many times has this happened? You and Tre, me and Gerard, and now you and the doctor," I said firmly and she frowned and turned around and looked at me.

Sunny's P.O.V

I glared at Emmy who just smiled at laughed.

"I honestly didn't want him to kiss me Emmy! It wasn't my fault! I... What did I do? Oh my god, I have to tell Billie." I ran over to the phone where Emmy pulled me back and away from it.

"I thought you were good at showing people you weren't interested," Emmy said.

"Yeah! Me too! You know, flash the ring, say you're happily married and don't flirt. I didn't! I swear to god! He was creepy... don't let me go there again!" I whined to her.

"Awhh, poor baby." She laughed and handed me the phone, leaving to go check out why the girls were giggling.

"Hey baby," Billie picked up.

"Hi. Umm...Okay, so Summer broke her leg and he has a glow in the dark cast and I took care of her for awhile while she was there and the doctor was there, and I didn't flirt or anything, even told him I was married and then I was leaving and he kissed me and I pulled away... just thought you should know," I ended.
He was quiet for a while, not saying a thing. "Hello?" I asked.

"Alright... ummm," he said.

"If you hate me I'm sorry... I hate me right now! I don't know what I did! I..I..I..Oh my god," I burst into tears and slid down onto the floor, dropping the phone and crying harder.

Emmy quickly ran in and picked up the phone, rubbing my back and talking to Billie.

"What happened?" she asked. "No, she was just crying, I was watching the kids..."

"Mommy?" Paitan asked, running in. "What's wrong?!" She sat on my lap and hugged me.

"Ok," I heard Emmy say and hang up the phone before I started shuddering and crying again.

Soon I passed out.

Emmy's POV

"Mommy!" Paitan screamed and then started crying.

"Paitan honey, go in there with Sum okay? Mommy's just..." I said and she clung to me.

"Auntie Emmy. Is mommy okay?" Paitan cried and I nodded and stood up and carried her into the living room and sat her down.

"Fucking hell Sunny," I said when she woke up. I hugged her, making her look at me weirdly.

"Is Billie mad?" were the first words out of her mouth.

"I don't know. How about you call him. I'm gonna take Summer home," I said hugging her again.

"Mommy!" Summer yelled from her spot on the couch.

"Yeah?" I asked walking in and seeing her trying to reach the remote that was in the floor.

"Here," I said handing it to her.

"Thanks Mommy," she said changing channels. I nodded and went back to the kitchen and the phone rang.

"Hello," I said answering it.

"Hey, how's Summer?" I heard Leslie ask.

"She's doing better. I get a break from running so much," I said laughing, making her giggle.

"That's good. At least she's not complaining. I remember I broke my leg when I was like six and all I did was sit around and complain." She said then I heard her laugh again.

"Why do you keep giggling?" I asked and then I heard her whispering to someone.

"Uh, you remember Cody from school?" she asked me and I nodded then slowly said yes.

"I ran into him the other night. So we kinda hooked up," she said making me laugh.

"Ha! That's great Les, it really is. Well, I'm gonna go. Summer needs me... I'll talk to ya later. Bye," I said hanging up and laughing my head off. I leaned up against the island and sighed as I caught my breath.

Sunny's P.O.V

I looked at the phone and finally picked it up, about half an hour after Emmy left and I got Paitan to stop hugging me.

"Hello?" Billie asked into it.

"I'm sorry," I said.

"Hey, it's okay. I love you baby. You didn't mean to... right?" he asked.

"Of course I didn't!" I exclaimed to him, making him laugh.

"Oh you laugh now, but when you get back you wont be laughing," I told him, which immediately stopped his laughter.

"You didn't mean that. I love you!" he said.

"I love you more than him!!" I heard Tre call out.

"That's pretty bad if Tre loves me more than you Billie." I laughed.

"What!? Shut the fuck up Tre!" he yelled. "No, I love you more. Tre's just an ass," he said.

"Well, I've heard he's got a really nice ass," I teased.

"I've heard Shanna's got a really nice ass," he said.

"Woah, man... you never tell a girl that," Tre said.

"Tre," Mike agreed.

"Ha ha," I heard Jason laugh. "Nice job Sunny!" he called out.

"I love you Jason!" I called back.

"Woah..." Billie said pulling the phone away from his ear.

"Daddy!" Paitan ran down the stairs, tripping, getting up and grabbing the phone from me.

"Dork." I smiled at her.

"I just felled, but I'm okay," Paitan told him. "Mommy fell asleep in the kitchen all hurtingly," she told him. "No, she's okay now. No! Talk to ME Daddy!" she complained.

I smiled and tucked Paitan into bed, she had fallen asleep in my arms on the way up the stairs.

I slipped into my own bed and cuddled up to a pillow, wrapping my body around it, imagining that it was Billie, soon drifting off in a pit of blackness.

I heard a shuffle and opened my eyes to see Paitan walking in the room and climbing up in bed beside me, moving the pillows and settling herself in my arms.

"I love you," she told me, snuggling in

Emmy's POV

"Good Morning Mommy!" Summer yelled and flopped down on my stomach, making me open my eyes.

"What are you doing up this early?" I asked her and she shrugged and giggled.
"So, mommy, my leg hurts, when daddy's coming home?" she asked and Jason barged through the door.

"Morning!" he yelled and Summer turned around, but couldn't get off the bed.
"Hey baby." He said picking her up and looking at her cast. He sat her down and walked over to me.

"Hey," He whispered in my ear and gently kissed me.

"Daddy, you're home early," Summer said matter of factly.

"I know. Hey about I go put you back to bed considering it's only 4 AM?" he asked and she nodded.

"I missed you," Jason said climbing over top me and kissing me. I giggled and groaned when he pulled away.

"It's been a looooong time," I mumbled and kissed him again, wrapping my arms around his neck, his hands slowly made their way down to my hips, making chill bumps go up my arms. The kiss deepened and my stomach started to churn. "Jason. I'm gonna be sick," I said as I pushed him away and walked off into the bathroom, leaning over the toilet, getting sick. I felt his hand rubbing up and down my back, which seemed to make me even sicker then I already was.

I was lying on the couch in the living room, thinking about what had caused me to become sick. Jason had dropped Summer off at Kelsey's because Kelsey said she would let Jason and I have some alone time.

"Hey babe, I'm back," Jason said sitting down on the side of the couch, me looking at him.

"You look really cute upside down," I mumbled and he rolled his eyes and kissed my forehead.

"You don't have a fever. How ya feeling?" he asked and I shrugged.

"It's like I have butterflies in my stomach. But I don't know," I said and he smiled.

"Wasn't that how it was with Summer, like around 3 months?" he asked and I nodded slowly.

"You don't think I'm pregnant again do you?" I asked saying the last part quietly.

"Take the test. Don't you keep like an extra one in the closet? Just in case?" he asked and I nodded. "And I wanna be with you this time. Last time you locked the entire world out," he said and I giggled.

"Alright, let's go take it," I said and ran up the steps, Jason following.

"It's been 15 minutes. Look at it," I said giggling as he shook his head.

"Nope, you go first," he said and I smiled.

"Fine," I said and looked at it.

"P-O-S-I-T-I-V-E," I spelled out. It took it a minute to get in his head until he finally looked at me, smiling.

"I love you so much," he said and hugged me, kissing my neck.

"Yeah, you better, this is the second time you made me fat," I said giggling.

"But you look hot," he mumbled and I rolled my eyes.

"Now, if you'll excuse me. I have to call everyone and tell them about the new addition," I said walking off to find the phone, making sure Sunny was the first one I called.

Sunny's P.O.V

I was screaming and jumping when I picked up the phone, Billie burst through the door just as I picked it up, which made me scream and jump in excitement.
"Sorry, Jason stole my ticket and I had to wait for a later flight." He grabbed me up in his arms and I wrapped my legs around his body, finally setting my head on his shoulder and snuggling in. He hurriedly took the phone from my hand and rocked me back and forth.

"Hello?" he asked into it. "Hey Emmy." He smiled at me, but I just snuggled closer. I grabbed the phone and sighed into it.

"Hey! Guess what?!" Emmy exclaimed.

"MOMMY! MOMMY! Mommy! Parker ran a— Daddy!" Paitan quickly ran up, climbed up his leg and settled herself on his other hip. Billie stumbled over to the couch, sitting down so he wouldn't have to hold our weight much longer.
There was a quick bark.

"He better not be fucking pissing on my car again," Billie muttered.

"Daddy! Don't say bad words!" Paitain scolded him.

"Oops, sorry." He smiled.

Parker ran into the house and jumped up on Billie, licking his face as I snuggled into his side and Paitan showed him her drawings.

"SUNNY!" Emmy called from the phone.

"Oh right, sorry. What?" I asked her.

"How many months are you?" she asked.

"I dunno, hmm...twenty three times twelve is...around two hundred seventy-six. Why?" I asked her.

"No! Pregnant," she told me excitedly.

"Oh! Around one and a half or something, why?" I asked again.

"I am so a month and a half more pregnant than you!" she exclaimed to me.

"Wow! We are so pregnant buddies again! All over again and Wow! This is gonna be so much fun you're... what?! You were pregnant first this time?" I asked her confused.

"Sure am!" she exclaimed.

"Wow! Congrats! You actually beat me!" I told her.

"No, I wouldn't have figured out how many months I've been alive for," Emmy countered.

"True... so I won?!" I asked her.

"Of course." I could hear her smile; she knew I was competitive.

"Wow!" I exclaimed. "I won Billie!" I told him.

"That's awesome." He gave me thumbs up and continued playing Barbie with Paitan who muffled a yawn.

"Paitan's tired. I'll talk to you later. Go call more people! I was first right?" I asked her.

"Of course!" Emmy agreed, quickly hanging up to go call more people.

"I'm not tired," Paitan covered her mouth as she yawned again and rubbed at her eyes.
