'Cause Our Love Will Light The Way, chapter 6

Holding Meeka's hand in my left, and my handbag in my right, we made our way down the narrow isle until we reached the end of the plane, where there were some stairs exiting the jet. We walked down the stairs and onto the tarmac. My hair was flying everywhere; it was really windy. Walking quickly, we made our way across the tarmac, and into the Paris airport.
I ran my fingers through my long hair in hope that it would look just a little less messed up. Resting my handbag higher up on my shoulder, I scanned the crowd for a recognizable face. My eyes landed upon a pair of familiar orbs, ones that were sparkling as the owner made his way closer to us. I put my handbag down on the ground and embraced in a hug, one that I had been waiting for for to long. I inhaled his luscious scent, and I immediately felt safe and at home within the arms of my lover.

"Daddy!" I heard Meeka say.
Jakob pulled back and picked up Meeka and spun her around, not caring if her tiny legs hit anyone.
He squeezed her tightly, not ever going to let go.

Jakob had hired a limo to take us to the hotel where we would be staying with the rest of the band and the crew. Our ride was already waiting. Jakob ran ahead and opened the door for us, still grinning like an idiot. We climbed in, and he told the driver the hotel name. I sighed contently as I rested my body against Jakob's, watching the beautiful city of Paris blur past out of the limo window.

That day we got settled into settled into hotel, and had a few drinks with the band, in the occasion of 'catching up.' Our hotel was worth every penny we paid to stay. It was situated in the heart of the big city, but the noise of the traffic didn't carry into the hotel.
Our room overlooked a beautiful river, which, it seemed, most of the town's people hung out at on the weekend. Night time came and we decided to do a big order of room service for everyone. Many drinks and plates of food later, I felt the urge to go to the toilet. I clumsily made my way there, luckily with no one seeing, as they were all busy talking and eating.
"Hey baby," someone said as I was just about to go in the loo.
I turned around and smiled.
"Hey J-Jake," I slurred. He laughed.
"Some one's had too much to drink, haven't they?"
I nodded.
"Come with me, I want to show you something," he said, taking my hand in his and leading me out of the apartment. We took the elevator down, and then he guided me out of the hotel. The cold air stung my face, and Jakob pulled me closer to him as we walked down the deserted sidewalk.
"Where are we going?" I asked him.
He looked down at me and smiled.
"You'll just have to see," Damn him and his mysterious ways.
We walked silently through the city, mostly up hill, until Jakob stopped.
"Are we here?" I asked.
"No, hold on," he said, putting his hands over my eyes and walking behind me. We slowly walked a couple of paces so that I wouldn't trip, as I couldn't see. Jakob stopped, and removed his hands from over my eyes.
I opened them and blinked a couple of times. I gasped. Stretched out before my gaze, was the majestic city of Paris. If you have never seen the city of Paris from a higher point at night, I sincerely urge you to spend all the money you have on a flight to Paris, even if you only stay for an hour.
It was magical. The Eiffel tower stood grandly in the far of distance, illuminating the dusk sky. From here, the city skyline was visible. Each tiny tower taking its room, filling up. The stars were spilled out across the sky, twinkling brightly, glowing and shedding light on the land below.
I turned to Jakob, who had been watching me.
"It's beautiful," I murmured. Nodding in agreement, he wrapped his arms around from behind me, and we watched the beautiful city sleep.

***

I woke up the next morning to find that Meeka had crawled in between Jakob and I, and was fast asleep. Giggling quietly to myself, I brushed some stray strands of black hair off her face. Her tiny eyelids fluttered open, and she clenched her fists and stretched.
"Morning," I murmured softly, leaning over to kiss her temple.
"Hey mum," she whispered back.
She wriggled around in the sheets, then, kneeling up, she bent over her fathers' side and planted sloppy kisses all over his face.
"Mhmhmn. . ." he groaned incoherently. His eyes flicked open as his arms snaked around Meeka's petite waist.
"Good morning," he said he said. He pulled her close to his chest, pinning her down next to him. He shut his eyes again and pretended to snore. Meeka giggled and squirmed in his grasp.
"Daddy, let me go!" she laughed.
"Nope," he said, rolling her underneath him. He started to tickle her. She laughed hysterically and tried to twist out of his hold.
Jakob looked at me, grinning. I moved closer to them as my fingers danced around Meeka's body, causing her to shriek with hilarity.
"Stop! Please, stop!" she said, laughing so hard that tears were streaming down her face.
"Should we let her go?" Jakob asked me, still pinning a writhing four year old underneath his body.
"Nah, let's keep tickling her!"
