Little Oakland, chapter 2

She got off before me so she was ahead of me in the hall. Justin was next to me talking about something but I wasn't listening. I was watching for her. I looked around. I still didn't see her. Crap. "Who are you looking for?" Justin asked.
"I-I-I don't know," I replied.
"What? You don't know?" he asked.

I nodded and kept looking. We still had 20 minutes till we had to go to homeroom. Why couldn't I see her? Where did she go? Wait a minute. Why am I so obsessed with this girl? I don't even know her name. I sighed and turned to Justin. "Hey there's that girl you sat by on the bus," he said, nodding behind me. I quickly turned around and there she was. She was wearing the school uniform, but she looked so...I don't know. She had long, dark brown hair that was straight mostly. She was darker than most girls here, probably because she got tan over the summer.

The bell rang to go too homeroom. Well it wasn't really homeroom, it was where they put you according to your last name and they gave you your schedule. Since Justin's last name is Beck, he went to a different room than me. I walked in the room for last names starting with J-T. When I walked in, I saw her. The tables were set up in groups of four and she was sitting at a table by herself. I walked up to the table and just stood there with my mouth open for a minute. She looked up at me. I just stood there. "Umm hi," she said. She had such a sweet voice.

I stuck my hand up and waved akwardly. "I-i-is someone sitting here?" I asked in a shakey voice.
"Oh, uhh, no," she replied. She smiled. She had perfect teeth. I sat down. She started doing something. I really wanted to talk to her but I couldn't think of anything to say.
"Nice freckles," I said. Nice freckles? What was I thinking?
She looked at like I was stupid. "Thanks. Nice dimples," she said. I got dimples when I smiled.
"Uhh thanks," I said.

*** In Homeroom***

I walked in the classroom and sat down. Then guess who walked in? Wait. I never got her name. But she's coming over here so I'll ask her. "Can I sit here?" she asked.
"Y-yeahh," I replied.
She sat down and said,"I'm Stella by the way."
"I-I'm T-Trevor."
She smiled. "Can I see your schedule?" She asked.

I handed it to her. She started comparing our schedules. "We have just about every class together," she said. "I sat next to you on the bus," she said.
"Yeah," I said. "Well, since we have so many classes together, maybe we'll become friends." She smiled.
"You must have a lot of friends," I said.
She shook her head. "No."
"Really? But you seem so so so cool," I said. She smiled.

When the bell rang, I got up and looked at her. She was a little taller than me. Everyone is taller than me. I walked to my next class. I sat next to Stella. It was english so we had to write a paper about ourselves. The teacher made us read the papers outloud. When Stella went up, I found out she was a good writer. "Ummm. My name is Estelle but everyone calls me Stella. I'm 11. I live with my mom during the week and my dad on weekends. I'm an only child but I have 3 godbrothers and 1 godsister. I like swimming, volleyball and soccer. My favorite food is pizza. I'm a normal kid even if my dad is who he his." She sat down.
What did she mean "if my dad is who he is"?
