So we pretty much started listening to them at the same time. Hahah, I was obsessed as well- I literally talked about them non-stop. It seems like we've gone through similar patterns, since I've had breaks from them before too, where I constatly listened to my other favourite band, Alkaline Trio, especially when new albums came out 'n ting.
I've also had the thing you had where you stop listening for them for a while, then stick on one of their albums and think "OMFG". It's almost like if you have too much of something it doesn't become a treat, a pleasure, you know?
YES! That is exactly what is happening to me, everything you said there. I'm getting into rockabilly and putting the green boys to one side at the moment. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing, but hopefully not the latter. I really think seeing the American Idiot Musical was the beginning of the end for me, srsly. I felt like it took all the magic away and stole it/ruined it. And beej is still bloody prancing about in it >.<
That's made me feel a lot better to be honest. Thank you for going into so much depth and detail! It helped a lot (:

Really!? I'm glad it's not just me...is there anything I can do? I mean, do you agree with me that possibly I am just growing out of them/apart from them, or not? I'd love any insight or experiences and just to generally swap notes. Thank you.
I also can't believe you've met them AND you've felt the same way. Though perhaps those two are connected.....
