Yeah, they mostly bought CDs for me. They really just wanted to make sure I didn't listen to music with swearing in the lyrics. They're pretty conservative as parents. Then one day I was just like, "f*ck it, I can listen to whatever I want, and I want Green Day!" So I went to Best Buy and bought the only GD CD they currently had in stock, which was International Superhits. I got the rest of their CDs in just a couple months. What was one of the first CDs you got that you still like?

Yeah, I don't think I realized who they were until I heard Brain Stew a few years later. I wish my parents let me buy their CDs earlier. I always loved them, but could never really listen to them. I can't believe they made me wait until I was 12!

The first time I remember hearing a Green Day song was when Good Riddance came out as a single on the radio when I was around two. Then I remember when Hitchin A Ride came out after that. They made a huge impact on me before I even knew it. It's pretty crazy now that I think of it. I can't believe that's stuck with me all these years.
