to be honest, she died. but not of cancer, since she took her own life.

the friend that's also a main person in the story promised to die too, if Niki died. Niki always said 'no you're not', and one day she was gone.
The friend found her old note saying 'if you die, I die', but changed it into 'if you die, I'll carry on. For you.'
that's how it ended.

but I had an alternate version too, where Niki does survive and appears after two years of what people believed was her death. But I found the first version better so I kept that. x]

and you know that my heart's really with your friend.
