Ah. I'll tell you a (true) story since I've got the time. Keith Moon, volatile drummer for The Who, was once listening to a bit of his own band's music in the lobby of a hotel. He was asked to "please turn that noise down" by the hotel manager. In response, he went up to his room, lit a rather large amount of explosives, and proceeded to blow the door off it's hinges. His words were something along the lines of "That, was noise, this *holding up the tape player* is The Who." Moral of the story is that the mind can discern between noise and music. I'm sure there is a more scientific answer, that explains frequencies and waveforms but the point is, have you ever tried to headbang to the sound of a bomb?
