Three Trends I've Noticed on GSB
After a while on GSB, I've noticed three re-occouring things.
1) GSB has been a place that I've known as somewhere that you can state your opinion, and 99 times out of 100 you won't get bashed, you'll get respected. And there are pretty much only two places that I've found that there are more bashers than accepters.(sp?)
2) When we're touching on the subject of homosexuals/bisexuals, I will clearly state my opinion. I am completely agianst both. And when I say this, and I seem to be the only one that does, I upset alot of people. Well you know what? It upsets me that we've lost all sight of morals and now accept homosexuality and bisexuality with open arms. I'm not going to come up straight to your face and say that you're wrong if you're one of the two. That's your personal choice. But if you come up to me telling me that it's wrong that I don't accept homosexuality and bisexuality, then I will tell you off. And I will flat out say that my veiws come mostly from my religion. Which leads me to my next piont.
3) I am a proud and loud Pennicostal Christian. Not the kind that will go up to random people and try to shove religion down their throaghts(sp?). Not the kind that will be rude to people and then use Jesus as an excuse for my actions. I'm apalled at the fact that people do so, and I am also apalled at the fact that there are next to no people on GSB that are Christians, or accept Christianity. I'm expected to accept homosexuality and bisexuality, but hardly anyone here can even stand the thought of Christianity?
If I've upset anyone with my pionts of veiw of the last two trends,(I see no reason that the first would upset anyone) PM me. Ask me why I think that way, or just give me your point of veiw, I'm open to anything. And if you want to bash me? Go ahead. I'll bash you right back.

Also, God created Bonobo Chimpanzees who constantly display acts of homosexuality. The Bible says homosexuality is a sin, but God purposly creates homosexuals? I trust God, he knows what he's doing.
Anji, April 25th, 2007 at 12:07:20pm
OK, 'problems'. :] Better?
Anji, April 25th, 2007 at 12:04:22pm
I disagree.
1. We have far more people who don't agree and clash over many, many things. Far more than you think. You are looking in all the wrong places. If you take a look at the specific discussion forum, you'll find that people in there are constantly debating. Why? because they don't agree. We have few people who will bash people for their opinions, those are the people that need to just be ignored. They are always going to find a reason to bash people, whatever it may be. Those are places best avoided. You can't win with an ignorant person.
2. I am highly offended by how you say "We've lost all sight of morals and accept homosexuality with open arms."
Religion is used against homosexuals far too widely. All because the Bible says it's wrong. As if the Bible is the word of God? Honestly here, God didn't write the thing, now did he? Who are those who wrote it to speak for God? That may as well be playing God. God loves all of his children no matter what they are. He doesn't create "trash."
Being so highly against homosexuality is the next racism. It truly is. People were shunned away, not given rights, even killed. Why? Because their skin colour was different. That didn't make them any less of a human, now did it? Men {humans, mankind.) are created equally. All people should have the same rights. It's no one else's business who others like. They say the government should keep out of the bedroom, right? So it shouldn't matter.
It's not racism so much anymore. Now it's people being shunned away, denied rights, denied medical care, even because they are homosexual. Before finding out a person is homosexual, they are a normal human being in everyone's eyes. Worthy of all the same rights the straight folk have. Once they've come out of the closest, they no longer have these rights. Their rights are basically torn away from them. They aren't any different than they were before they came out. So what gives? People being closed-minded, ignorant. Make of it what you will.
It's sick, disgusting and inhuman. People were equal no matter the skin colour, yes? So why can't people be equal no matter the sexual preference?
They very well shouldbe, because it's the same concept. Being a different race doesn't affect someone as a person, they are just as nice as we are and every bit the person we are. homosexuality doesn't determine the person either. I have tons of gay/bi friends and I'll be honest, they are nicest people I've ever known.
3. There's a lot of Christians, actually. They aren't some scapegoat and whatnot. It's just that most of the people here (from what I have gathered) are either bi or gay (How many of them are lying? Who knows. Bear with me for the sake of debate.) don't like Christianity because it's the religion that gets tossed in their faces when they are told how they're gonna go to hell for being gay. My mum's side of the family is Christian. I'm not sure what kind because I'll be honest here, I believe in God, but I don't believe in religion. Religion starts wars, gets people killed. There's no room for it in my mind.
And that's just how I see things. Make of it what you will, I've not intended to purposely offend of bash anyone else's point of view. Opinions, are nothing more than the belief's of oneself and how they view things. Everyone is welcome to their own opinions, it keeps everything from becoming so uniform.

Yeah... I know what trend means... I really don't think that it's the right word to use, but I couldn't think of a better word to use. Tell me one and I'll gladly change... all of the places I said trend. :)
lady.of.darkness., April 25th, 2007 at 11:19:32am
Do you know what a 'trend' is?
Anji, April 25th, 2007 at 10:58:07am
Folly.
Bountiful, glorious folly.
Number One: There's actually more views that the majority of the people on this site do not except with open arms. Quite a few actually. You should venture on to the ol' Specific Discussion board and you'll see for yourself. Of course, this is all debate in the name of sweet politics and ethics.
Number Two: Why do you fund your beliefs soley (as I can gather) from The Bible? The Bible is merely a storybook with morals written in. How else could a description of the creation of man be written when it wasn't God who actually wrote it. Not one word was actually written by God, but more of disciples and philosophers of the time. The true word of God (apparently) is the Koran. (or sometimes spelled Quo'ran). All a matter of opinion, of course, but I don't really think a book written so long ago, that's been translated and retranslated, by a willow birch of a religion who did in fact bless homosexual marriges in the 4th centuary.
Number Three: Why do you believe that people should respect your Christian views when there is a lot of people who already WILL on this website? Again, if you head over to the Specific Discussion thread, there is actually a lot of Christian people of varying degrees. I'm sure they will welcome you into the discussions with open arms and buy the sounds of things, you'd have a good time there.
So...uh...I thimk your trends are just due to looking in the wrong places. =]
Hope I helped.
The Doctor, April 25th, 2007 at 09:51:11am
Okay, first off, your beliefs are what you find correct. Go ahead and think that homosexuality and bisexuality is wrong, i won't bash you for it, i'm not even offended, and hell i'm not even gay or bi. I guess people on GSB find this opinion of yours to be morally wrong, just like you think that their living choice is wrong.
Personally, i think half the GSBians on this site lie about their sexuality, and it wouldn't surprise me in the least.
I haven't had religion shoved down my throat, but i sure as hell wouldn't accept it if it was. I'm not religious. I even think the bible's a load of sh*t.
But i've never beaten someone down about their religion, i just think religion causes too much trouble, so if you don't get involved with it, you stay out of trouble.
If people are willing to kill themselves for religion, good on them, but that's a bit drastic for what? A little book?
I'll pass.
Stef., April 25th, 2007 at 05:14:04am
I disagree with the homosexuality one. But, I spose its your opinion, and you're perfectly able to have it.
As for religion...well...I'm not religious at all. Both my parents were brought up Catholic, but both of them aren't anymore. I was brought up without any religion. I spose I'm Atheist, but being atheist is sort of like having a religion about no religion.
The Brightside., April 25th, 2007 at 04:33:49am
i dont understand how these are trends... actually, i already said i was bi, but i'm not against christianiti, i dont like it but i dont have a problem with it. Everyone can believe in what they want. I'm abit too openminded for this, sorry.
PaNcAkEs, April 25th, 2007 at 04:05:28am
I dont get how point 2 and 3 are trends. Or point 1 actually. You expect people to be accepting of christianity and yet you yourself are close-minded about homosexuality?
...
CASTIEL, April 25th, 2007 at 03:39:49am
I agree with Vegemite and Sidmas. *nods*
As for religion, I don't agree with it. It divides people, causes wars. Not good. But, that's just my opinion. I hate religion being shoved down my throat. I had to go to a Christian seminar the other week and they had brought over some preachy Americans. Basically, they told me that if I don't believe then I am condemned. -_- Nice to know.
vonny, April 25th, 2007 at 03:14:03am
I agree with Vegemite.
I know you don't agree with homosexuality.
But I am Bi-sexual, and it offends me that you find my life choices "wrong".
If you saw a man kissing another man, what would you say or think?
As for religion.
I too have had it shoved down my throat since the day I was born.
One side of my granparents, My granmother is a Minister.
The other side both of my granparents are hardcore atheists.
And because they are athiests they've never told me what to belive and they've never told me to be like them.
For my other side it's a completely different story.
My grandmother thinks I can still be "saved"
Unlikes my 17 year old sister who is a "lost cause".
germma margaret!, April 25th, 2007 at 03:08:21am
well, i will have to disagree with you on being against homosexuality, but as for religion, i have been put of religion from religion being shovedd in my throat.
