The Used.
The Used are by far, my favorite band.
The thing I like most about them is their flexibility-no matter what mood I'm in, I can find a song by them that suits it.
Some examples:
Sad: On My Own
In love/Happy: Box Full of Sharp Objects
Way pissed: Choke Me
Obnoxious: Pretty Handsome Awkward
Desperate/scared: The Bird and The Worm
Their music literally kept me from committing suicide when I was like, fourteen. I was about ready to go through with it, when the bonus track at the end of their debut started playing. I was so startled by the sounds, after so much silence, that I couldn't do it, I just sat down and cried.
Another reason I absolutely love them is, they are amazing live. I haven't had the pleasure [YET], but I've seen taped performances. Bert has one of the most astounding voices I've ever heard, regardless of whether he's singing live or on a CD. Add to that that Jepha and Quinn are both freaking geniuses, and just...wow.
I remember reading all the lyrics to In Love and Death one night, and being just, blown away by how random they seem until you put them together.
I'm not really sure how to end this...I just wanted to share how much I love the Used, and hopefully explain why, a little.

I absolutely love The Used. They aren't my favorite band, but one of.
Lately I've been really loving the song Listening. And The Taste of Ink is so good, and such a classic. And you're right about the bonus track. Not the suicide bit- but it scared the sh*t out of me the first time I heard it and wasn't expecting it.
They're an incredible band and all so talented. I think it's really immature how people on this site started an "I Hate Bert McCracken" club just because they're MCR fans and they found out about Pretty Handsome Awkward.
I mean, Green Day is the band that I admire and adore more than anything, that's helped me through my problems, that has a song for every mood I'm in- although The Used has those too- but I don't quite connect with them the same way as I do with Green Day.
