Just something about careers.
in england, you go to infants and the primary and secondary and dont have to worry about what you do until yr 9 (aged 13-14) and you have to pick options - the subjects you want to do for gcse.
then when ypuve done them, and they generally what your good at, you pick your AS levels. college. where im at.
and YES your mum/dad will have something they want you to do. they might say, oh i want you to be happy, but deep down they know what you want.
my dad was open, he said he wanted me to be an artist but knows im not into art as much as hed like. im sorry i cant please him that much...
but my mum was like, ohh i want you to be happy [/imitating voice] then when i told her what i wanted to do with my life, she dismissed it. i should be a lawyer or a journalist apparently. "my mother says to get a job, but she dont like the one shes got" so whats the fucking point of doing something you dont like?
so..
HOW TO KNOW WHAT YOU WANT AS YOUR CAREER:
1 - its something you like to do. what do you like to do that could be a job? ie drama is acting.
2 - are you could (ish haha) at it? could you get better with practise? ie still with the drama, can you act? can you work with people and learn techniques?
3 - could you imagine yourself being really high up in that job? ie a famous actor, movie star and so on.
4 - could you imagine yourself being kinda low down in that job? ie pantos or trying out all the time for stuff.
5 - remember nothings easy, are you cool with that? ie some actors are waiters while they arent big coz they need money to eat. or they do panto and have hecklers
simple as. i wanna be in a band.
1 - i like music and drums and stuff.
2 - i can write songs and keep in beat. im always up to learn cool stuff.
3 - imagine being like green day O_O
4 - i could be in a van doing tiny shitty gigs in someones house... sounds so fun!
5 - i could write stuff for magazines, i have other skills and im prepared to do a job for money and band stuff for fun. i could get bottled off stage and laugh about it.
so dont do something you dont wanna. and if you change your mind, it doesnt matter.
just coz it aint your perfect job, do it until you can do what you like.

1. I love poetry, literature and a good old book (ie, I wan't to be a writer)
2. I write practically everyday and I can see that my style of writing has progressed beyond the basics but I know I could stilll improve with a dictionary and a course in psychology.
3. I would love to be liek Sylvia Plath, Russel T. Davies or J.K. Rowling. It'd be awesome!
4. I'm kinda much there. I'm starting to gain confidence to start submitting my junk to places that might be interested (like magazines, publishers, BBC) and I can live on a tight budget. Hell, I live on £45 a week and half of it goes on my bills.
5. I have a severe anger that only surfaces once in a while. I've been a bit annoyed on the site, yeah, but no-one here has ever seen me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry. Last time I was really mad was when I was 11 and I strangled this b*tch in the year above me for bullying me. She so deserved it. Anyway, people annoying me might mean I might need to do some stress busters or whatever and regarding the whole other job thing, no problemo. I'm pretty smart and I could pick up a job...or stay on benefits and be lazy.
