We live in a sad time.
Everytime you turn on the news, there is stories of murder, rape, kidnapping, parents abducting their own children, school shootings, and coverage of the war.
Why do people think they can take the life of another? It's been going on since the dawn of time, like we have some instinct to kill.
I find it sad.
Also,celebrites.
They donate to every charity it seems. They help, but I really see no difference in places like Africa and the like. But,it seems as they help,it's like they really help themselves. They get more money, fame, fans, media time. They don't need 10 cars,or gold toilets,or ridiculous luxuries. It's nice of course. It's as if they are in it for themselves sometimes. I know they want to help, but they more they do,the more they get.
I'm done,thankyou

But,I feel their is a principle there.

Every single person in all developed countries could donate every bit of money they have to their names; it wouldn't make permanent changes in poverty stricken countries. Why? Because those countries and in serious debt to our governments. And no amount of money we send can change that. I've seen some celebrities charities do amazing things, and seeing as how I havent set up some multi-national charity that saves lives daily, I have no right to b*tch about what they do. Do they get more fame for it? probably, but who cares? The more fame they have, the more fame their charity gets. And the more people that get helped.

I remember saying that in a Blog once, I'm glad that I'm definitely not alone! I thought I might have been the only person who realized that the news only reports the bad stories. And it's not only media purposes, but also I find that bad deeds are more recognized by good deeds.

Agreed.

The news always focuses on the bad because studies show that people won't watch a story about good events. They prefer to watch people suffer while they are in the safty of their own houses eating TV dinners.
I think it's sad.

I agree. The world we live in today isn't a nice place and it's continuing to get worse.

I know,we just focus so much on the bad. The good stuff gets so little coverage.

As long as someone helps I don't really care if they increase their popularity through that or not. They help. And that's good.
The problem is how to help places like Africa. Donating tons of money doesn't help anything. People have to travel there and teach them to help themselves.
As for the news: I actually sometimes wished there would be positive news. Because alot of positive things are happening in our world. It's just that no one really talks about them.
