School sometimes annoys me. [But I’d rather it be this way]

I'm sure I speak for most people when I say school annoys me. But am I in a minority that feels lucky? I always hear people say 'Why's the point of school?' And it makes me feel like screaming at them, but maybe I’m overacting.

At our school we sponsor a school in Uganda. Those children would do anything to be living our lives; they would love to be able to have free education after age 11. I don’t take school for granted. I do my work, I do homework, I pay attention and learn. I know how value it is.

But yes, I understand why people hate it. Sometimes I don’t want to waste sunny afternoons inside writing essays. I don’t enjoy spending time doing repetitive work. A lot of things at school do annoy me, but I’ll ignore those, just because I know what school is doing for me.

It’s helping me get a job, build a life. Without school I might not even be able to write this. I’m not going to take my education for granted. No matter how much I sometimes dread it, I’d rather be with it than without
