14 Year Old Drinkers.
This blog is not about where 14 year olds [or people around that age] drink a few times ever so often, like a glass of wine a few times a year, or other examples. It’s about when people go out every weekend and get drunk. Actually it’s about the story of some people I know.
It was one of their parties, and they all got drunk. Now normally their weekend antics involve 3 bottles of vodka between 6 of them, which is too much for one night and their age, but maybe I’m overreacting.
Even if I am, what they did last weekend was too much, between the 6 of them, they had: 8 bottles of vodka, 6 bottles of beer, 2 of white wine, 1 of red, 3 of champagne and 19 Bacardi breezers, from 7pm – 7am. Now these figures are roughly worked out by the amount of empty bottles that the girl’s mum whose house it was [my mum and her are close friends].
Now, this is O.T.T. I’m sorry but why did their parents allow this, full knowing what happens, and why do they allow this? What’s the point of destroying your body like this at this age? I’ve had no problem if they drunk if it was a lot less, but don’t see the point when it’s this much at this age.
Maybe I’m overacting, I might just be too naive to know much more, but this is my opinion on the matter and I’m glad I think like this.
Thanks For Reading.x.

You are definitely not overreacting, that's horrible: both that the parents allow it and that the kids do it.
Alcohol is a really stupid thing to abuse, because it takes over both mind and body. As far as I've been told, you don't even feel great when you're drunk, just very reckless.
Such as it is, I dont drink it.
Maybe a Mike's hard once or twice a year, but otherwise, Hell no.

i dont see a problem in that, its their choice...i personaly dont even LIKE vodka. But yet again, thats just me. I never drink unless trying out a new wine my mom has bought(she likes quality things) or beer at a pub, and parties to which i dont go that often simply cause i dont hang around the right people...much. I personaly think that if they want to drink, and they have their resources of alcohol, then for peet's sake they can, i'm not going to condemn people for their own actions nor will i lecture. Actually, i wouldnt mind getting drunk a few times during the year, welll, not every weekend, but at the end of semesters, where you can have some fun, party

Personally i dont see a problem with doing that.
People like to experience these things.
I used to get drunk ever weekend when i was 13-15 and i hardly ever drink anymore. Kids that age dont drink cos they like the taste, they drink to get drunk. I life you learn from your mistakes, and most likely your freinds will get bored of drinking. Untill then, its just a bit of fun. And its actually better if the parents knew about it, in case something did go wrong. If they parents banned them from drinking, theyd prolly do it anyway, only in a less than safe environment with many variables that could harm them.

a 70% of the teenagers that abuse booze become alcoholics
I like getting drunk, I do it any chance I get but not like that man

I've done and still do a bit of drinking, but never THAT much. I know when to stop. God...that's just insanity. They're gonna get really f*cked up if they continue doing that every weekend.

God, that much drink between 6 of them? That's awful and no you aren't overreacting at all. I know people from school who are exactly the same and then they brag about how drunk they got afterwards. I like a drink occasionally but I know when to stop.

They have no huge problems, they just find getting drunk fun. Their is no purpose other than that, and don't understand how to have fun without alcohol.

You are absolutely not overreacting, in my opinion.
What could drive them to drink like that? Wanting to drown away the pain of something? I doubt so. And tbh, if they would do it for that reason that early in life, I really can't imagine how they'll react later on.
I just never drink. Never ever. But that's a personal choice, and I have nothing against people who do drink, it's normal. I just have no pity for those who go overboard.
...ok. Maybe ''no pity'' was an exaggerated expression, but you know what I mean. Haha

kate
another well written blog
your right
i can shamefully admit that i have been like that before
but if the girl's parents actually allowed it i think that its a crying shame
i know i regret thinking getting off your face was cool
and many people i know would agree
getting drunk is ok..but the fact they consumed so much in such a short period of time is damaging to the liver
well written my dear <3
