Just Say It...You Think My Taste In Music Is Shit. (rant)
I love so many bands...Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, AFI.... And I have no problem with people who dislike those bands. But being a jerk about it, or making me feel bad for liking them is a different story. My dad does this thing, where he hints that my taste in music is shit. He hints that Fall Out Boy will only be around for another 2-3 years, that it wasn't food poisoning that made MCR cancel their shows, but drugs, that AFI are "too heavy".
Fall Out Boy will only be around for another 2-3 years: What the fuck?! Is my dad a fortune teller or what?! For every band, whether they last for two years or twenty always gets a solid fanbase. And even when the members quit, or die, or lose their fame, the fans will always bring something positive from the whole experience in the end. When it's us, the Fall Out Boy fans playing on that stage, we'll have brought something from that FOB concert to our own performance, in a totally unique way. No one can take that from us, even if the ride doesn't last long.
The drugs made MCR cancel their shows, not food poisoning: I think we'd notice if the entire band is drunk/high onstage. And yes, Gerard Way did have a drinking problem, but he recovered. Watch Life On The Murder Scene, please.
AFI are "too heavy": But they're not heavy metal. How is "Love Like Winter" heavy? We can all have our opinions, but even if they are "heavy", AFI is not the kind of band that fits into one genre.

Depending on what your dad listens to usually, I can understand his "AFI is too heavy" standpoint. Maybe not LLW, but Totalimmortal and some of the older stuff. That's not my opinion, but I understand it.

I'm not going to say anything about MCR...
And Fall Out Boy- I could see where your dad might think that if he didn't really know much about them. While I don't see Fall Out Boy becoming legendary or anything, I do believe they'll stick around for a while. :D

I hate it when people call me emo cause i listen to screamo lol...although they may have a point lol:D
But it does suck when people do that, so just listen to what you like, enjoy them while they're around and still afterwards, and just dont let anyone get ya down.

But I just get a really weird feeling about MCR.
I don't think it was drugs that made them cancel their shows.
I think they hate each other...sort of secretly.

I hate when people go like that.
Somebody wanted HIM NOT to come to Norway in concert, cause they thought they were sh*t. And then I'm like: "Does it harm you, that HIM comes to Norway, even if you don't like them yourself? For f*cks sake, you can just NOT go!"
