Meet Mr Duckworth:

Originally a French teacher, he was charged with manslaughter for 13 year old Gemma Carter, he became my IT teacher around November of 2005. My School is amazing, we’re a bunch of brain boxes; apparently. Yes, a lot of us are smart, but we also know how to use it, we run data checks on new teachers and one of us found this and soon it spread round; “Our teacher was a murderer”.

But he wasn’t, he was a generally nice guy, not a murder, just careless, and I’m sorry for him because my school tore him apart, always winding him up, accusing his of trying to kill us, it was horrible, I felt sorry for the man, until he became creepy.

But before he got creepy he was quite kind, a little cautious but that was expected. I liked him, terrible teacher, but I was willing to accept that as our final exam was done and he was just teaching us the extra stuff, but Mr D was fired a couple of weeks later.

He got fired, because of our complaints, no one complained of the charges he’d had, it was what he’d said. Mr Duckworth invited me to his house for tea; he told someone that he wished he was her grandfather so he could bounce her on his knee, and there were lots of rumours. The first two cases are true, I know because they occurred when I was around.

We saw him looking too, on the non-uniform day he was staring at a girl’s chest in year 10, he was looking at areas that a man of his age shouldn’t on girls on their age, but he did, his lessons became weekly torture.

The final straw was he had dancing girls on the school website, available for all; he filmed them and didn’t ask their permission but let us all see it. He distributed it among the school and online; he was gone 2 days later.

Although towards them end he creeped me out, I hated the original prejudice against him. Maybe if we hadn’t found out it would have ended differently, I don’t know, just I felt the need to make a blog about him, to be honest he scared me and this way just let’s me see it more clearly.
