Be There.
So I guarantee that everyone here on GSB has friends. Whither they are online pals, or ones in real life. Friends are there for each other, no matter what. So be a descent person and be there for your friend.
Its 2:30 in the morning and my friend calls me crying about her boyfriend, three minutes later I am at her house with chocolate and ice-cream. I stay up with her all night, bad mouthing stupid boys, and promising her that I’d never hurt her in my entire life.
I do this quite often, by the way.
I’ll drop what I’m doing for anyone. Others are a lot more important to me than I am to myself. I do whatever I can to “kiss it make it better” as my little sister used to say.
Recently, I had a very hard thing to do. I had this boyfriend who I thought I was crazy about…and I decided that he just wasn’t everything to me. I needed my bestest friend in the world to help me think things out. I needed her so much. Instead I find out she’s at his house, comforting him and when I finally do break up with him…she doesn’t speak to me and invites him over for a movie night. Yah…thanks.
When you have a friend who needs you, no matter how stupid it is, you should be there for them. Answer those midnight phone calls; bring them chocolates and hugs and kisses. Its not that hard to be a friend and support them. I do it with complete strangers…but just sitting there and talking to your friend through a problem is the least you can do.
You don’t have to be a superhero. Just be the shoulder to cry, the bandaid for their heart. Haven’t spoken to a friend in a while? Call them out of the blue for nothing special just to see how they are. It means more than anything.
Be there.

I agree.
Even if you can't always fix everything in a friends life just being there only makes things easier.
