So, What’s Your Story?
So, What’s Your Story?
How did you get to GSB? What led you here?
Me?
I found the internet a nice relief from the world. With sites like habbo [no, I was not a habbo slut] and random forums I made the odd friends, but really nothing serious. About this time, I was also discovering music, for example it was 2005 and Kaiser Chiefs were a big band in the city [Leeds], sure, they’re decent, but I never felt that attached to them…just felt attached to music.
Skimming the music channels I never found songs that stuck out, until randomly, by utter chance, there was this live music event, something like ‘Green Day: Rock AM Ring: Germany”, and this band were so amazing. Switching on, Billie Joe grabbed my attention with the chords and his calling of ‘anti war’, which struck my attention, and wow, I was amazed.
Eventually my Green Day obsession grew, realising I’d heard the music randomly in the past but could never place it. Skimming the music channels I used to watch ‘Kerrang!’ in the hope of seeing them, in the process finding tons of other bands.
But how does GSB tie in? Well, in times of boredom I used to visit Green Day sites, for instance the main ones, there used to be a link on it for GSB under ‘Green Day games’, which intrigued me. I didn’t sign up straight away; I hung around and read this amazing story, immediately adding it to my favourites, coming back every day to read it and check for updates. Eventually, I signed up and went straight to the journals.
The board seemed so daunting and scary, like it was a whole community, but the journals just seemed a little bit random, a bit more relaxed and I just dived in, posting my first journal and falling in love.
May 19th 2006.
That’s such an important day for me.
May 19th 2006 “ Joint GSB
May 19th 2007 “ First Elliot Minor Concert
May 19th 2008 “ The First Day Of GCSE Study Leave
And I’m glad the date started with GSB.
Now, I’m still here daily. Even if there’s little time, I still post facts. When I go on holiday, the day before, I post 2 weeks worth of facts, because this site means so much to me.
But what I want to know is; Why did you join?

About 3 months after I got into Green Day I wanted to find some of their websites. I googled "Green Day" and the next thing you know I'm reading stories on gsb. Eventually I joined the website and I've been here ever since. =)

I was just going about my stalkerish ways of wanting to find out every detail about Billie's life (OmG bIllY jO!!1!) and I came across GSB.
I read a few stoires and was obessed with them, so I joined when I was 11, lied about how old I was because I thought you'd all think I was immature.
Yeah, GSB is my home.

I read stories on here a lot, and then one fateful day I thought "oh well, I might as well sign up." I was only about 12 or so.
and the rest is history..

i was..just barely 13. xD I was looking for websites, because I just got off of one called VMK because it was getting stale and boring, and found a link to a lovely little site. It was six days after my birthday. I hung around for a bit, playing games. Eventually I just said, "Screw it." And joined up. And here I am.
:D
Pretty boring xD

I was 13 when I discovered Green Day. I won't lie, I heard Holiday a couple times and fell in love with it. I caught my dad watching American Idiot a few times because it "interested" him. But really.. it started with Holiday. I then downloaded a bunch of raaaaaaaandom songs which then became some of my favourites (among the random were Coming Clean, Welcome To Paradise, Whatsername, Too Much Too Soon, mostly from Dookie and AI, cause those were the ones I saw on Limewire :]) And then late one night, I was looking up things about Green Day (I have this tendancy to learn about bands before I really get into them) and I stumbled upon this strange site called geekstinkbreath.net.
I was on my way to bed so I was too lazy to go through the whole process of picking a name and yadayadayada, so I waited maybe a week at the most, then I joined and here I am. ^__^ I can't remember the exact date.. December.. 13th 2005 I believe. :)

Like you I found it through games but was too nervous to join immediately and break the tight community there was, none the less I joined on July26th 2006 but never managed to break that community until late last year on the new GSB. Now I have quite a few friends on here who I all love - you included!

I was skimming through the internet one day after Green Day had put out American Idiot, so being silly me, I searched them on google, this website came up, stalked it for about half a year :/ Watching tagboard, and occasionalyl leaving messages on it. Reading stories and the like and then i joined :}
