The Mormon Religion.
Okay, as not very many of you people know. My family is from Mormon descent. That does not mean I am Mormon, just my family's religion. That being said, let me start.
The Mormons are a small branch off of Christianity. The church service involves a sermon, the offering and prayer and then breaking up and going into individual classes where they teach you about the Bible and Book of Mormon.
Many people think the Mormon religion is bad because men can have more than one wife. Well to tell you the truth, that's not the case any more. Back when the religion was first started they could. But couldn't men anyway? Didn't men often marry more than once or cheat on their wives and the wives couldn't do anything about it because they were women.
There is also the deal with the Polygamy (term used when being married to more than one wife) that happened in Texas. They say that that was a Mormon Polygamist cult. Well what they're telling you is only half of it. That certain Polygamist group was a branch off of the Mormon religion. And Branches are the religion but changed some of the ethnics. What happened in Texas was not only Polygamy, but rape, murder and multiple crimes. The Mormon religion does not praise these things.
There is also the deal with the sermons that the Bishops give and the things that are in the book of Mormon. Well to tell you the truth, all religions have things that they do differently. I'm sick of people going on about how some religions are cults. Catholics don't allow gay people or divorce do they? My point exactly.
Some of you people must say I'm full of bullshit. Well let me tell you. I went to the Mormon church for 10 years of my life. I know what I'm saying. Some of you might not believe me, but what I'm saying is true. In the 10 years I went to church, there was no talk about Polygamy or anything like it. I've been to many other churches and they all pretty much practice by the same things.
So, if you're going to actually not like a religion, get your facts straight and learn about it before you go and talk about it.

the thing people don't get is the differance between the LDS and the FLDS, The FLDS are the ones with more then one wife, but they are not assosated with the LDS.

I don't like the Mormon religion because I don't like any organized religions :]

you get that from one website? You cannot base everything off what you read on the internet. It can be very biased. Have you actually been to a Mormon church? if not then I suggest you go to one and get your facts straight. You can't judge something fairly without first experiencing it for yourself.
seriously, my sister moved to Orem, Utah. And let me tell you, it's very controlled there. Not like a dictatorship, but in a very good way. In a 50 mile radius, there is one liquor store and you can only go in once a day. Can only buy a certain amount of alcohol and they have 2 police on duty at any time.
Some may think that's bad, but it's better than having your entire city drunk off their ass. It makes things safer.

i honestly have to say that the mormon religion makes me sick. i say
this because i've done vast amounts of research on
most religions, and don't have any appreciation for religion
in the first place.

that is one of many expsositories that reveal gross truths.

I agree with you.
"Catholics don't allow gay people or divorce do they?"
seriously? I'm catholic and had no idea, and I've been going to catholic church. well, used to. I don't like religion all too much though, so I probably just didn't pay attention or somethingxD I thought that was christianity. Although, catholics and christians are basically the same damn thing. oh well. religion is too much for me to handle.

My friend’s a Mormon although she prefers the LDS term, is this the same or a different branch? I never knew anything about Mormons until I became friends with her and discovered about seminary and all those things, but then again, I do not know if this is just the Church of the LDS as I’m not sure if this is another term for Mormon or it’s branched off.
Mormons get a lot of bad stick because of the whole ‘oh this group did this’ and people forget to see the big picture; my friend often takes me to dances and I can assure people there’s nothing different about Mormons; they’re ordinary people who are often prejudiced against for the actions of a few.
Good Blog.
