Addicted to the energy

Suddenly the chattering ceases. There's pin drop silence; I breath in and feel my heart speeding up. The music has begun. The guitar is roaring, and we all know that somewhere behind that wall, they're standing. Only seconds are left now. The long wait of hundreds of days has become seconds, only moments and short in-a-whiles. We've been waiting for this way too long. The lights are turned out, but I barely notice, because my eyes are focusing so intensely on the stage. Somebody stumbles into me. I hear scattered shouts, as war cries; we are about to attack! As of expectation, longing, love. As of hope. As of joy. Here we go, can you hear us? We are all here because we identify ourselves with this music. We devote our lives to the beat of their pounding drums. We put our faith in the persons that soon will be rushing out on stage. We are all here because this is our lives, this is what makes us feel real. We are addicted to the energy surrounding us tonight. I feel how I'm pressed into the fence, but I forget the pain. I can't breath anyway, I'm so full of joy waiting to be released. My one inhalation is keeping me alive. My adrenaline is keeping me alive. This feeling is keeping me alive. The waiting that has lasted for too long is over. All these people underneath the same ceiling are taken into another world. Nothing else matters right now. Tonight we're creating something unique, magic, fantastic. Time passes by so quickly yet so slowly. I'm pressed to the fence; the guitar is roaring; we're shouting; on our way to something wonderful; they're rushing on stage. For a moment the world stops. Then I'm released from my long waiting; singing, bouncing and dancing. Along with the ones who share my thoughts, my feelings, my joy. We are here because we love it.
