Well, murder and abortion are defined as the same thing only by some. Personally, I support abortion because I think a fetus has the possibility of human life, but whether it's a human yet is very debatable. Unfortunately, it's a debate that cannot be resolved, because it's a matter of personal definition.
So i don't regard it as murder. You do. But the Supreme Court is with me on this one for now.

pregnant at 24 weeks which is the cut of point for an abortion in Briatin,
Baby:
Your baby is almost completely formed, and is beginning to deposit brown fat on his or her body. The purpose of the brown fat is to retain body heat. Newborns are notoriously bad at regulating body temperature at first. This is particularly a problem for a baby born early.
Babies born at this point have some chances of survival with very special care. They will be in the Intensive Care Unit, probably for many weeks. Usually we say that you can expect them to stay in the NICU until their due date.
A major problem with premature babies is lung development. If preterm labor is detected early enough a steroid shot, called Betamethasone, can sometimes be given to enhance lung development.
S/he weighs in at 1 lb 5 ounces (595 grams) and 30 cms or 11.8 inches total length!

when you shoot some one they see the gun
they know when they've been hit
they've had enough time on this earth to do things wrong and possibly deserve it
the baby doesn't (or "potential baby" if it helps you sleep at night
if we're talking about pro-"choice", why doesn't the child have a say in it?
not only is this predetermined murder, but with the assistance of a doctor
that's assisted third degree
this is like the "Dr. Death" debate in the ninties
should he kill the elderly that were to die in three months?
we locked him up for murder, why don't we lock people up for murder of some one with ninety years ahead of them?
because it would be an inconvinience?

I think abortion should be an option in some cases. Rape especially. I mean, in places where abortion is illegal, like Ireland, there is backstreet abortions going on, which is a serious risk to the mother. I don't have statistics to say how many have died, and I know I'm going to get someone to say it was their own fault in having an abortion. But technically, the foetus is just cells. Alive? Maybe, but aren't tumours alive anyway? All a foetus is a lump of cells that could become a child, just like the reproductive cells in the human body, each with the potential, not always going to happen.

Since I'm here. Here's my opinion:
If you can't take care of the baby, don't have it. I mean if you really can't take of her/him(hate using the word it), like when you are 13-15 years old. Actally it depend on sooooo many things. I just can't say if you aren't old enough, you can't take care of a baby. In some countys you get married when you are 13. It's normal. And some people have very caring parents, who woud help you take care of the baby. It's very complicated.
Hmm... if you really don't want a baby and get raped. Then i'd suggest abortion. You have to be ready to take care of another human. That's why I don't understand why people are against abortion. Haveing a baby will stop your whole life. Some people aren't just ready to take that huge responsibility. And what if you can't have an abortion and yuou aren't ready to take care of the baby? Isn't that worse for the baby?

It is a normal country.
Please don't be foolish and judge it like that.

Whats worse, is having no life at all. Existing, for a brief while, but not living, before being torn from that. How bad do you think that is?.

I'm really offended by this. I live in Australia, but I'm Irish, every single bit of me is Irish, and I find this offensive.
Just because the country does not allow abortion does not mean that it is not a normal country
I'm shocked someone could be so judgemental.
Murder is a crime, yes? Say you shot someone in the head, or you stabbed them, however you did it, just say you murdered someone.
Well.. abortion is killing a foetus, right?
And killing is murder.
So therefore, shouldn't abortion be murder?
Maybe that is why it is not allowed in Ireland.
As far as I know, its illegal in Victoria. So they come up to NSW to have abortions if they really want it.

But is murder wrong? In the eyes of the law, yes, but isn't it some primative nauree that drives us to kill each other? So, it hurts for a while, so? In the animal kingdom, animals kill their own kind, I don't see them getting arrested for murder. And how do you know that it would be better off not being born? What if it had a heat malfunction in the womb and was 99.9% certain of not survivng the pregnancy? What if it had no head? There are cases that it would be pointless to carry on with the pregnancy.
And technically, then on the same principles, taking any part of a human, or even an animal, that is alive, is that murder too? What about rape victims? Do you think that they'd want to keep the child that was a result of that? You might argue, 'it's not the child's fault', but not every mother could go through with it. It can mess with your mind, thinking that the person who raped you has created something growing inside you. Not every woman could mentally cope with that. I am just saying that abortion should be kept as an option for some cases.

I was saying some reasons for why it could be illegal in Ireland. I was replying to that person who quoted you, because they really offended me.
And I never said that I think that abortion should never be allowed o.O
I agree, in cases where the child would be really deformed, or may die, or the mother may die, or if the mother was raped, etc, then yes, an abortion should be allowed.
