Just because you didn't comprehend doesn't mean my post didn't make sense. Or maybe it didn't make sense I'm just being a pissy bitch. Whatever. It made sense to me and we're obviously not thinking along the same lines.

I have fantastic comprehension skills, that post didn't make sense. World peace and ending poverty have nothing to do with this topic, at all. And the robots thing... yeah.

Let me put it this way: Humans will become herbivores when every person in the world is educated and understands why it would be good. Because I just looked up some stuff about the food chain and realized it would be good. Now, not every human has access to the required education like the people on this board do. This is due to poverty. Poverty is often a product of war. First stop wars, then take steps to fight poverty. Kids will go to school, learn to think, and understand why being a vegetarian is good.

Until then, humans will be omnivorous and there ain't a damn thing anyone can do.

See, find where I said, 'every human HAS to become a herbivore'. I never did. Thats why cramming words in someones mouth is a bad idea.

honestly would you sit and watch a cow being slaughtered, then cooked, and then you could easily sit and eat that same cow for your dinner?

K, ew. No one would. I think that would turn people into vegans for good. Like, in seventh grade science, our teacher made us watch a documentary on how sausages and weiners are made.

Since then, no one who has seen that video has even thought about looking at a hot dog.

Humans, in no way, shape or form, have to eat meat. Its their choice.

Sometimes it isn't.

Like when I was in Finland, there were a group on semi-nomadic people who lived well inside the artice circle of northern Finland.
Now, Finland in December is one big frozen snowdrift, literally, everything is white. Not much to eat, really, unless you plan on munching pine bark. XD

And this group of people lived off the reindeer, see. They wore their fur, ate their meat, used them to drive their sleighs. I don't really think they had a choice, I mean if they didn't eat the meat, they'd have nothing. Think

exactly. they don't have a choice of what to eat. if they had other things apart from meat then they'd probably eat it.

ok animals like panda's, tigers, gorilla's (sp?) are being killed for their fur. But cows and sheep and animals like that are being killed for their meat, and for all we know, one day a cow could almost be extinct.

We could all be extinct one day.

Like if there was a smal faction of the human race 'upgraded' and made into super-humans. Therefore, we would be below them in the food chain and we would be (pardon the pun) 'dead meat'.

No one knows about teh future.

Besides, cows and sheep etc are BREED for meat.

Cows and Sheep are a renewable resource, they were domesticated to be bread for food, they won't go extinct as long as people at them.

Gorilla's aren't being killed for their fur. Their fur is too rough. They're just held as trophies. Sometimes the hands and feet of the carcass is sut off though because a while ago, there was a rend amongst poachers to use gorilla hands and feet as ash trays. Disgusting.

But we kill for food, usually. In the case of people who eat meat, anyway. And the cow won't ever go extinct because of our eating habits. We don't eat that much meat. Farm animals won't ever go extict because of the way in we ensure a breeding population.

Yes, I realize that. I happen to be one such human. My family is one such family. But humans as a species have to eat meat. I'm not saying all of them. But at least 50% of humans have to eat meat. Ecosystems and food chains have humankind as important links. If put ourselves as a species, down at the bottom with the herbivores, god knows what would happen.

What in the hell are you talking about? HUMANS DO NOT HAVE TO EAT MEAT!!! Its a choice. Quit making up stupid statistics, it doesn't help your arguement at all. Chances are, once you start making up percents, you don't know what you're talking about anymore. They can choose to, but they don't have to. All the animals we eat are bred for that purpose, as the demand goes down, we'd stop breeding so many. The food chain would be fine. And, Umm, not all herbivores are at the bottom of the food chain ~~

Producers are. ~~

Oh boy, biology!
Hehehe, except the food chain is a food CHAIN!!!

I don't know how many times I have to say this, but there is no bottom of a chain. So can we please stop referring to it. My love of biology insists that I do not prevail until everyone understands this.

it's unpredictable. 20 years ago, no one would of thought a tiger would be so close to extinction. So if we make dramatic changes to our eating habits, animals we have been eating for years could be close to extinction. I'm not saying this will happen, because i doubt it will, but life is unpredictable.

I know twenty years sounds old to you, but it really isn't. Twenty years ago, tigers were still quite close to extinction. Besides, nobody has eaten a tiger for mabye a hundred years, or in small Indonesian villages who are narrowly escaping the law, or curious poachers. Besides, even one hundred years ago, villagers would be crazy to try and catch a ferocious tiger just for food. Might as well go for wild boar or wild chickens.

And you did say that the cow could become extinct. Even typing that makes me laugh. It's impossible. Domesticated animals do not die of extinction. It's like saying if we keep on putting down dogs, they will become extinct.

It's actually a good thing that the human population won't die out now, otherwise the overpopulation of dogs would start to breed uncontrolably without humans intervening and they'd overpopulate the globe.

If you don't stop being rude to people and calling them whores, telling them to get lives, etc. I will report you for cyber bullying.

What people choose to eat or not eat is their decision.
Get over it.
