I'm vegan. the way you people explain it is confusing. vegan means no meat, dairy, eggs, fur, leather, wool, etc.

it's not hard. and it is 1000000000x healthier when done right. it gets a bad rep from people not doing their research about what to eat before they actually go vegan. I've been a vegetarian for 3 years and a vegan for 1. all I can say is that it's done wonders for my health. I'm a happier, kinder person, and I'm helping animals.

I can't see why someone could criticize us

I really just don't believe it's necessary or natural to hurt animals for food.
they live breathe and feel pain just like us.

Yeah, animals hunt other animals. But people don't "hunt" animals. Animals are domesticated and slaughtered. The conditions that some animals are kept in prior to being killed are disgusting and not comparable to an animal who is hunted in their natural environment. I don't so much have a problem with people eating meat as I do with how they obtain that meat.

I would much rather someone hunt animals in their natural enviroment then get meat from a big processing company. Tis what I say to that

Thats cause animals dont know they can domesticate other animals. If they did I bet thats what they'd do. Like the wolf in sheeps clothing. You blend in and make nice, then you kill and eat them. Its horrible but they taste good O: Should eating animals be illegal?

No, that's because animals don't have the ability to domesticate and if they became so advanced that they were able to do that; they'd be almost human. The wolf in the sheep's clothing isn't real, its a fictional cartoon, it isn't compareable to the conditions some sheep are kept in real life. mrgreen: I just said that I don't have oppostion to eating meat when the meat is obtained in a way that isn't cruel... so do you think that I think eating meat should be illegal?

No, that's because animals don't have the ability to domesticate and if they became so advanced that they were able to do that; they'd be almost human. Well my dog played mind tricks with the other dog. Cause we kept saying how we wanted to get rid of all our animals except for one dog [we only had 2 at the time]. And so the dog who lived Pinto kept ging to the street and then coming back like it was nobodys business and he would push the other dog to the street . And one day the dog was just walked on the street and got hit by a car. Purty smart. Like we just talk about getting rid of one, but not saying which one and then Pinto takes the other one down e_e SneakySneaky.

I am a pescetarian only because I don't see a reason to eat living things for nutrients and things that are found in many vegetables, fruits, and other edible plants.

Yeah, fish are living things. Alot of pescetarians have problems with the way animals are slaughtered; and fish aren't killed in the same way, and if you don't get your fish from fish farms, you aren't harming the environment by wasting land for farms. Plus, non-red meats contain less saturated fats and are very healthy.

And alot of pescetarians are under the impression that fish have no feelings, which isn't entirely true. Certain species of fish have crudely developed nervous systems and they don't feel as muchpain or on the opposite end of the spectrum some have highly developed systems that release lots of encephalins and endorphins to dull the pain quite a bit. They also obviously have a different type of brain and experience pain differently than humans do. However, alot of the fish we eat can feel pain.
If a pescetarian has ever had shark fin soup or something like that, they can rest assured the fish they ate felt pain. Alot of the fins used in that kind of soup are caught illegally. Fishermen catch them, cut their fins off and throw them back in the water. Not only do they feel the pain from having their fins removed, but they suffocate because they can no longer swim correctly so that their gills function. That's a very extreme example, not all fish suffer that much.

idk, I don't understand the whole 'I don't eat living things' deal. Because most foods were alive once. Well, all plants and fruit were anyway. You're killing plants to eat them, after all. They don't feel pain, thats all.

To be perfectly honest, I do not want to eat fish. My mother said I needed to eat some kind of meat.

Well, if you want protein, you can go for baked beans or tofu. Or lentils.
