Yeah. Eating meat is absolutely out of the question for me. The disgust that you feel when you eat meat is probably the same disgust I feel when I eat dairy lately. =/

Well, I'll be honest and say that I do enjoy eating meat, despite the numerous negatives I've heard/seen/read about it.

I feel slightly hypocritical because I'm against the torture of house pets and such, but other animals that I eat daily go through the same sort of deal to get to the store....

Even though that sickens me, I'm afraid of failure and I don't know any true vegetarians, so I wouldn't have any decent sources to go to for help, information, etc. There's always the internet, though. Haha

I've got some decisions to make, I guess. :/

Because that's where the complaint came from. Some sort of athletes union of some sort.
Source?
CNN says that the USOC (That's United States Olympic Committee, I think.) complained to the BCGFSO (Gah, Beijing Committee Governing Food and Safety...and Oranges? I don't know that one.) so the BFSO (Beijing Food Safety Organisation?) told the BOC (Beijing Olympic Committee) to ban dog meat from the designated Olympic restaurants and have advised most other restaurants to do the same.

You should go out & buy The Complete Idiot's Guide to Being Vegetarian. It helped me loads, answers any questions you may have & tells you what foods have what vitamins in them & replacements in your diet for meat. You can get used versions from $4.

i don't eat a lot of meat because i don't really like it, but i wouldn't become a vegetarian, i mean, if a bear eats meat why shouldn't i? i'm trying to say that eating meat is natural and even though you can take a lot of vitamins and stuff to compensate for eating meat, it's not the same thing as actually eating it, right? your body needs meat and i think you should eat meat but not excessive, just as much as you need.

The process by which a bear obtains meat and the process by which humans obtain most meat is totally and completely different.

Also alot of bears eat more plants than they eat meat.
A Panda bear eats only bamboo but is said to be a carnivore.
So it is a vegetarian by choice.

Did you know that the dogs that are eaten were dogs [and cats, and rabbits] that were hung up on hooks, and skinned alive?

fun fact. (:

Okay, so yeah, I've become vegetarian. The USA has no legal definition of 'free range', so that's what started me off with the whole vegetarian thing. Now I just don't like the fact that there was lots of blood and gore to get my meal. I only eat shrimp and clams, but only ones that are fished/caught, not some farm-raised gross crap. I make sure that all of my animal products come from ethical sources.
It's also better for the enviroment. Con
I mean, I'd prefer that someone is vegetarian, or even better, vegan, but dude, if you're gonna eat meat, or use any animal products, make sure they come from an ethical source. It's better for you, because these kinds of animal products are all natural, organic, antibiotic and hormone free. Organic also means that the meat doesn't have all of these chemicals. And trust me, there are ALOT. And the naimals will have a better life. Works out for everyone. It isn't more expensive either, probably because animals treated with cruelty are kept in giant, heated/air conditioned, lighted buildings... sucks up a bunch of energy, but the cruelty free companies don't have to deal with that.

I've been a vegetarian for over 4 years and I love it. Con

Ireland isn't exactly good for vegetarians though, there's not as many substitutes as say America would have.

I know right.
I've been veggie for 5 years.
I have found the further out of Dublin I go the less option I have.

It's so annoying.
Compared to the likes of American and even England, we have the bare minimum!

I admire Vegetarians, I think that's great.
But What I don't like is them making everyone else feel guilty about eating meat or animals products
(I'm not saying that you ALL do it, but the vegetarians who I happen to know tend to do that alot.)
I try to compromise by eating free range meat ( It comes from a local farm where the animals are allowed to graze and have good living conditions and are not treated inhumanely) It's the best I can do.
