Yes, it is ridiculous, in my honest opinion. I can fully understand in some cases (such as in my town a brand new state of the art collge was built especially for muslims). But didn't Blacks fight for years and years to be given the same rights, to get the same education, hell, to even ride on the same buses as white people?
I think all races should be combined in schools together. It works in my school.

Sure, men and women learn differently, but how does skin pigment really affect learning? It has nothing to do with the brain.
I'm so against white dominant schools only learning Eurasian history and not talking about Africa! It's a shame, it's infuriating, and it's wrong. And it would be wrong for a black dominant school to only learn about Africa. We're all so interdependant historically, you can't just seperate the history out, we shouldn't be seperating people! Education in the US has been slightly (more than slightly) backwards for a long time. Seperate schools based on skin color would be a tragic step in the wrong direction in the same way that it would be tragic to eliminate foreign language programs from American schools. Isolationism is a bad foriegn policy, we shouldn't be using it against each other too.

As wrong as 'all-white school', 'all-women school', 'all-men school'... Anything can be racist. It goes both ways.
i dont believe in segregating African Americans after they fought so long and hard to have equal rights, and not have to drink from separate water fountains

well if this is racist, then arent single sex schools sexist?
i have a problem against both. i think that it doesnt allow children to socialise properly, and gives them a rose-tinted view on the world which may affect them in later life.
separating races into different schools throws away what so many people have given their lives to fight for
its stupid because theres still a lot of tension with some people and nothing will ever get better if we continue to separate ourselves.

Races have already been seperated there, its not a good thing, you did it without even meaning too. Humans are humans, African Americans who want to be in seperate schools are just as racists as Caucasian people who find them inferior. Its the kids parnets who vote on things like this, and if that were to happen, it would result in the kids being racists when they grow up, which would just lead to a more hostile society. Segregation by race is outlawed in the United States, so legally that wont happen in America, as for other countries who knows, but I hope it doesnt.

me too....along with religious schools...and any other schools that seperate people in any way.
But why are so many people worried about this topic? It's like, who cares about what colour your skin is? It's not gonna make any difference on education or every day life. I think we all should be given equal rights - no matter if we are girl or a boy, our nationality, what colour our skin is, if we gay or les, you know.....that kind of thing.

Because some people have fought long and hard to give Black people the same rights as White people...segregating them now will put all that hard work to waste.
