Ooh! Let's base our lives on an old book!
It's worked SO FUCKING WELL so far.
compared to people living their lives on the views of commercial television and whatever your political mastermind is pushing down you throat.
I'll take my chances with literature
And its not like you have to swallow the whole bible anyway...
Pick and choose what you will, there is some good stuff in there that I think anyone, even atheists like me, can benefit from. Love thy neighbour and all that. Good stuff.
Its not like the book goes out and tells you to murder gay people or any of that.
Except for that one about stoning any man who lies with another man as he would lie with a women. But I get whatcha mean
i don't know...I believe God wants you to be happy...and if that means screwing some guy in the ass...then go ahead...now I know this may sound bad but i am 100% ok with gay guys...but i really am uncomfortable with lesbians...i guess its just bc im a girl...i mean i dont want them hitting on me...im straight...no offense to any of you lesbians...i also hate when people are like "ewww you liked brokeback mountain...thats just wrong" ok, it was a wonderful love story..who cares if it was guys doing it...i think some people need to get over it...its going to happen and you can't stop it..
Hun, Just some random lesbian isn't going to hit on you. We know who to hit on and to not hit on. XD

Ok. Let's get this clear.
DISCRIMINATION IS [using the dominant ideology of society today] WRONG.
So why do people still do it? It can be in any form. We see an old lady, and automatically think that she's frail and weak. That's not always the case. I do it. You most probably do it. Yet we say it's wrong. Why??
Maybe it's just human nature to discriminate, to make us feel better about ourself I suppose, being "imperfect" and all that kinda shizz.
there's a difference between thinking to yourself, that old lasy is weak, and then go over there and pushing her over just to see if you right
it's a part of human nature to classify, but you shouldn't for the most part act on it. thats what makes us civilised.
So it's alright to be prejudiced, as long as you dont act on that opinion?
I think I agree with that, in the main, you can't really help your thoughts. I mean, I have quite a lot of murderous thoughts, but I would never act upon them, unless I became really unhinged one day
yep, Their are certain groups within society I have problems with but i'm not about to start rioting. When the government starts saying we can no longer voice are opinions in a peaceful way, i'll be on the first plane to sweden.

In light of the other thread lockage can we rename this as 'Sexuality'?

Gays Rock.
I'm bi and all, but that's a stereotype too. It's like seperating them as different from everyone else. Ya know?

also it seems convient(sp) when people say "its times like this i am glad to be bi sexual and an athiest"
You misunderstood. I meant that I'm glad I don't have to deal with feeling like I'm doing something "wrong." I didn't believe in god before I knew I was bi.
I've said it once, i'll say it again.
I'm not bi. I'm greedy.

I've got all the respect for peoplewho go to church, but from the sound's of what was said,it made it sound like the church is homophobic. And I know loads of people who are gay. And I'm bi so that's offensive to me.

Where is the evidence to say the church is homophobic?
You can't actually prove that.

I understand why churches are - if they are! - homophobic. It is a religion, there are rules, if you want to call them that.
But I don't care if someone is straight, bi, or gay. It's completely up to them.
