God did not create Satan, he was the angel of music up in Heaven, but he changed and is now a fallen angel.

i like the concept of this. if the bible's vision of god is flawed does that not mean the whole religion of christianity is fundamentally flawed?

Hell, you don't even need to, there are so many gaping holes and inconsistencies in the Bible and the whole Christian belief...you've got to be blind not to see them. The whole system is dangerously flawed, in my eyes.

I don't believe in Satan. I do believe in Lucifer. Of course, I can't prove they're not the same person/being or whatever. But I believe it.

I was of the opinion they were two words for the same being anyway. The bible refers to them both. Obviously, it differs from author to author during the course of the book. And that not-so-terrible garmmatical sentance, did make sense.

In Christianity, yes, Lucifer IS Satan. But not for me

Dunno if you can be bothered reading all that, but I found it interesting.

i think that the God lets the devil do a certain amount of damage because in the end we are all saved. he is punishing us for our sins. He is not the one who is evil, we are. we deserve what He lets the devil do to us (sickness, war, famine, death, divorce) because of the original sin (eve eats fruit from forbidden tree). all beings must suffer because of that. God is good and he is just giving us what we deserve.
