Well you can hardly chose when the baby is going to get hungry. It should be allowed to be done in public as long as it is done in a respectable way, which most women do. They shouldn't deliberately do it to get people to stare and then complain that they are.

it's quite inappropriate to whip out ones breast to feed a baby. most mothers pump it into a bottle so the baby can feed just fine.
i'm not against breast feeding, it's natural, but if the baby can only drink from your breast, i think the mother should stay at home until the baby can drink from a bottle.
i've personally seen this happen at a food court, and i wouldn't say it's disgusting, i just find it inappropriate in public.

This is getting ridiculous. Given a choice, no woman would want to breast feed in public. But thing is, the child is hungry and there ain't a damn thing you can do but feed your cute little chubby baby and get on with your life. I mean, they make "mommy clothes" or whatever, don't they. Those big loose shirts so that mothers can feed. Babies need the proteins. Moms need to get rid of the milk (because if forms whether or not you want it to), so if the baby's hungry in public, wear a smock or a towel or a cotton poncho and feed the baby!
How hard is that? If you're in a restaurant, it's not like a mother's going to be announcing it or making a scene. It's nature. NATURE. If it makes fancy restaurant people so upset, they can make a Mother Section like a Smoking or Non Smoking section. It'd be kind of unusual, but still. There are so many ways for moms to breastfeed their children without flashing.
And the peeing bit? Grocery stores have bathrooms. Restaurants have bathrooms. Dinky travel agencies have bathrooms. Go to the nearest little shop and pee in their bathroom. Pissing in public doesn't help anyone but the dude who has to go.
Breastfeeding isn't unhygienic. It doesn't smell. It won't carry toxins into the air. And its not like people manage to pour their breastmilk all over the place or something. So stop comparing breastfeeding to urinating.

i was quite happy to breastfeed in public and in fact i did so many times, what is worse a crying screaming, unhappy child or a few people who dont care about anything but themselves, but yeah your right comaring breasfeeding to urinating in public is juvenile and wrong, mothers can even feed breastmilk from a bottle but in some cases babies cant drink from bottles and have to be fed naturaly.

Why would that be considered indecent exposure? There's clothes for breastfeeding moms and also, most women use a shawl or something because unless I miss my guess, few mothers have a desire to flash the world while feeding their children. Really, the breast would be hidden from view. It can only be indecent exposure when she lifts up her shirt in order to feed the baby. And I suppose she should at least be asked to put on a shawl or towel of some sort or given a warning before being asked the leave the restaurant.

I know I rather have the mother breastfeeding her kid than listening too it yelling... And why the hell should a breastfeeding mother stay at home?! Someone mentioned that as an option. Is not. A mother still has a life you know. If you don’t like it don’t watch. Is not unhygienic, like peeing in public would be, and it just doesn’t really affect you.
Sure it can be a bit repulsive. Like when I was a kid and at a public pool a woman just took of the top of her bathing suit and flashed her upper body. It was around the picnic tables. That made me a bit ill. So in that case she should have gone somewhere else but when it’s done discreetly, as I believe it often is, people just shouldn’t have a problem with it.
A more accurate comparison would be kissing. People kiss in public. Some are greatly annoyed by it even if it’s not over the top. I don’t like to watch people make out. It’s not my business anyway. So I look away, it’s not more difficult than that since it doesn’t really affect me at all.
