Same here  .. I love them for their music, cause when I discovered them I had no clue how they looked [and I wasn't really interested] and in addition at this time Billie had his Fat Elvis phase xD .. So I don't like them just for looks |

The problem is Green Day rips off the sex pistols and the clash and the ramones to seem "punk" and they suck at it. Green Day isn't really killing it...the way people potray "punk" kills it(which Green Day does take part in)... I think.  I don't think that green day has tried to be punk

due to the reasons of
1. avenged sevenfold took over my mind and completely blew me away almost a year ago it still happens everytime i listen to them
2. i made friends with people who i now regard as very close friends who weren't into bands like green day so got into other bands (for example cradle of filth then liked that more ) |
