i love green day.... thyere totally righteous, but ive started to lose interest in them, because ive becom more interested in other music 70s-80s stuff.... and when you look at the ramones, and the clash, and the sex pistols, which is what green day was suppose to be formed on, you realize how much they have changed since amerian idiot. the sayin, punks not dead.... well, thats ture, but i feel like green days killin it now, because of this new phobia of people thinkin emo is punk..... help keep punk alive, people!!!!

The problem is Green Day rips off the sex pistols and the clash and the ramones to seem "punk" and they suck at it. Green Day isn't really killing it...the way people potray "punk" kills it(which Green Day does take part in)... I think.

I'm not really losing interest, kind of decreasing.. BUT I could probably understand why others are.
Growing fanbase liked Green Day because of the fact that they had new songs out and it was played all the time, winning awards, etc.
Now, they're not really giving anything to [many of] the [new] fans (besides the suspense of their new album), so it's not as exciting to many people because there is nothing to talk about when discussing Green Day.
The only reason I'm a bit disappointed is because Green Day is now known as sort of the "politics" band. It's annoying. Watching the Kids Choice Awards win speech sort of hit me in the head and drilled part of that into my brain. I don't know. I haven't really lost interest, just there hasn't been the excitement that there was.

because they are way overplayed. im not saying i don't like them anymore, believe me i still enjoy their music. but their older stuff was way better than their newer stuff. people keep calling them "punk". that is a load of crap. they aren't even near punk. they have tons of different influences, and different sounds, and different ranges in styles of lyrics and music. they are way too overhyped now. people are taking them the wrong way. everybody is thinking "OMG BILLY JO IS SO HAWT. LYK DUN YOO JUS LUV HIS BLUE EYZZ!!?!?!". honestly, wtf. if people are going to obsess over them, at least have the decency of getting things right. i can't believe people are so nieve into thinking BJ is the hottest guy on the planet and is the only important and talented member of the group. not only do people forget about Mike and Tre, but they also forget about the rest of the guys. if your going to freak out about loving their music, you've gotta learn to respect all the members playing the instruments. if it were all about billie, then they would be called "Billie Joe". but it's not like that, that's why it's a group name, not a solo artist's name. and what i don't understand is how people obsess about Billie's wife Adie. i mean, i know she's very beautiful and very great, but come on people, she doesn't know who you are and she most likely doesn't want you to get into her personal life. and for those who hate her, for being married to "Billy Jo" ( -_- ) get a life. be happy for him that he has someone to love. and lastly,respect the producers, directors, and everyone else who makes them the way they are. because without them, there would be no green day. thank you.

One: Almost ALL Green Day fans now that Green Day isn't punk. They are Alternative. K?

Two: I have never seen someone who actually talked like that or said that (see bold). Stop exaggerating, you fucking sheep.

Three: No Green Day fan singles out Billie Joe, we love Mike and Tre just as much. And if anyone singles him out, it's people who aren't even fans, and they shouldn't be a reason to not like Green Day. (Not saying you do...)

Four: I have Never, I repeat: NEVER, seen or met an Adie hater. We love her just as much as Billie Joe. Again, stop fucking exaggerating.

Had to look back and see if I posted in here, anyways; I haven't particularly lost interest in them, in fact I think I have gained interest in them quite it a bit this last year or so. True I've been a fan forever, but I don't easily get bored of things or lose interest. i think everyone is just making a big deal out of AI and it's sucess is pissing everyone off because they just a "punk band." Then everyone ties emo into punk and has developed this phobia of being emo which in turn causes people purposely lose interest because they are afraid of what others think of them. Pity really. None of my friends like Green Day but that doesn't stop me from liking them. I look at it this way, you can like whatever the hell you want to like and people should just mind their own business about it.
I don't give a shit what people think, I haven't lost interest one bit. End rant.
