The Vampire Diaries by L. J. Smith (fan-FREAKING-tastic) and I'm even more excited because she's planning on releasing more *jumps up and down in excitement*

I also just started (I literally just got and started it today...) another series from her called Night World and I'm almost done with the first book.

L.J. Smith is seriously a great author-I love her characters and I got so into one of the Vampire Diaries books that I threw it across the room in anger with what happened at the end of one of them. I takes a lot for me to be SO involved in a story and I've never done that before... Shifty

Wob:
»L'écume des jours - Boris Vian, it's called ''froth on the daydream'' in English. Absolutely marvellous. Definitely the most peculiar novel I've read so far. Also one of the best, obviously.

»L'étranger - Albert Camus, ''the stranger''. Also quite peculiar. I didn't like it at first, but after analysing it, I've taken a great liking to it.

»Das Parfum - Patrick Suskind, ''Perfume''. I'd have never thought it possible to write a book using as main descriptive sense Smell, but it seems Suskind has done it, with amazing success.

»2001; A space odyssey - Arthur C. Clark. A completely different experience than the movie, yet very well written.

»The Exorcist - William Peter Blatty. I loved the movie, but the novel... amazing.

»a) The world of Karl Pilkington & b) Happyslapped by a jellyfish - a)R.Gervais, S.Merchant, K.Pilkington, b) K.Pilkington. pure genius. or idiocy. your take.

I also forgot to say that I started another L.J. Smith series- The Secret Circle.
What frustrates me is that they don't just re-publish them all at the same time. I get to read the first three books and then I have to wait forever just to get the next three... same with the Sweep series-except that's only one at a time...oh well...

Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger
Yes, it's probably overrated; no it's not "great literature." But that book...just sort of hit something in me, y'know, like...I can't describe it. But I love it--and I did before I ever got into Green Day. >.>

Also, all of Jerry Spinelli's books, Stargirl especially. He's such a brilliant writer, every book of his just...carries me away. I've been wanting to reread all his books for awhile but I can't get ahold of some of them yet. -.-

Same with Sharon Creech.

The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty (someone stole my copy, though!)
The Stand by Stephen King (do not read during flu season!)
Bridget Jones' Diary by Helen Fielding
1984 by George Orwell

...it's been a while since I sat down with a book, though. Can't wait for the new term to start.

Tweak is great. Have you read Beautiful Boy by his father? Also very good. It's interesting to see both of their perspectives on his addiction.
